Alcantara dash wrap question

I want to wrap my two-piece dash covers in alcantara. Here is my question. I know that they won't fit in place if I wrap both pieces separately and I wonder if it will be permanently stuck in the dash if I wrap them together as one piece, which I want to do. So if I do wrap as one piece, I'll probably glue the two halves together, are there any tabs I should remove so the unit can be taken out of the dash?

I tried this and it was miserable. The first time you try to snap them in or remove them together, it will come loose and look shitty. If you really don't want to spend for a one piece, I think you should glue the pieces together and then Bondo to get rid of the seam.

I don't know about removing tabs though. Maybe the ones close to the center

I was thinking the same thing about gluing and filling. Thank you for the input.
