FIFY. I can't cite exact cases, but a couple of people (mostly subaru owners, if memory serves) have been told that its "normal operations" and to GTFO.

Ah, well, that's good to hear. I'll call the local dealer and see what they say.

Is it all the same TSB number?

... Actually, I did go in for my 45K service the other day and the car was in the system as a Subaru FR-S. The service tech couldn't understand what happened, nor could he bring up the 45K service to fill out the form because it was the "wrong car." Also, when I called Fifth Third Bank about info on my loan and they didn't seem to believe me when I said "Scion" FR-S (during the security check). Plus, those BS insurance cards that companies send that explain your warranty has expired usually say Subaru as well.

So it probably doesn't matter, right?

But I digress....

Those are both dealer related so somebody entered the name wrong at the dealership. Probably had it on the paperwork for the bank as well. Not really sure how they could screw that up though.

I've been complaining about the fuel pump "chirps/crickets" to the same dealer every time I took my car in for service. Every time the response and paperwork was the same: "no repair available"

My guy down there called me last week all excited and said the fix was in and the ordered the parts. My warranty ran out last month but because I've been so persistent in following up they had me in the system and were able to squeak me in still.

They said it'll take most of the day to do the job. It is a replacement high-pressure fuel pump, fuel pump drive case, left side rocker cover and tube seals, multiple gaskets (manifold, fuel pipe gasket, throttle chamber). This dealership has already replaced two others.

Did it work?

Subaru already has the TSB for whoever was asking if the BRZ can go to a Toyota dealer for it. I went in for an unrelated issue and they fixed mine for free, took a day to order the parts and 4 hours to service. This was at Gilman Subaru of San Antonio, Texas.

400 Miles, no chirps. But it is cold as shit here lately.

Yes. It is purely an auditory cosmetic thing.

They could have jostled something in the change. The pump swap is pretty invasive.

2015 FRS A/T. 500 Miles since new fuel pump installed, no crickets. I always fill up at the same Chevron. If you are still covered under 3/36 or 5/60 warranty just get it replaced.

Since it's a TSB I don't think it matters the status of your warranty. Hmmm, @Tcoat you know?
