Thanks to everybody who came out yesterday for our 4th of July drive through the coastal mountains and highway 1!

I know I had a great time on the drive as well as chatting with everyone about different cars and setups.

I did 84 -> 1 -> Pescadero Creek -> 84 loop this morning around 7. A little foggy around mid-elevation and out at the coast but otherwise great. Was clear at Alice's. And no cyclists except some going down on my way back up 🎉

Highly recommend some exploration in the hills around there, lots of great roads.

Sometimes I fantasize about putting rotating blades all over the front and sides of a vehicle then clearing the road of cyclists. But only sometimes.

Great day for a Sunday drive... Did Palomares Rd from Castro Valley over to Sunol where I stopped for some 96 octane gas. Then down 680 and did the up-and-over Mt Hamilton drive from the San Jose side, to Livermore. Roads were in generally good condition and traffic was light — it was mid morning and temps were already climbing into the 90s so probably too hot for all but the most hardcore cyclists.

As a cyclist, I'm only partially offended if I didn't feel the same when I'm in my BRZ.

NorCal (Bay Area) DRIVE Chat Thread

I checked out a few roads in Marin County area to feed the brz some winding course after a couple of weeks not driving it and to take off the track itch that i’ve been having. I hit up Fairfax-Bolinas Rd->Hwy 1->Panoramic Hwy. I started late in the morning since the real purpose was driving the wife to her school but there was enough time for me to take the car out for some mountain carving (distressing). It was a Wednesday and there were few bikers on the road. The fairfax-Bolinas Rd has a lot of bumpy areas in the first part and an area of road work (tree cutting) but not too bad for the rest of it. Panoramic Hwy brought back memories of the first Norcal 86 meet/drive we had with the OGs back in 2013-14. Overall, a good route to take if you are in the area. A few car pictures. (Car is really dirty! Sorry!)

It is a part of the Alpine Lake. The Fairfax-Bolinas road will go through there.
