Photos from Hawaii, Because Hurrmmfzz asked for it or someone. and trust me when I say this. I had to pick like the...14 that encompassed the full trip

I went IA for the Navy, and during offshift I went out among the island. Ive been here multiple times before. And the group I was with shown me a good mix of stuff I never seen and stuff I have seen but not to the same capacity. It was a good clean time and I got to hang out with a cute woman because of it (shes high energy and got legs. but already taken. so I was respectful. We arent 18 anymore)

Anywho..

Moana Falls Hike

There's the Falls!

Koko Head. This was pre-hike. No more smiles when we reached the top. The guy is someone I work with, and his wife. he is bilingual, I am not. so it was fun trying to chat with his wife. She was a sweetpea, good for you bro-dude.. onwards with the climb

This was the middle of the tram line climb. It gets steeper.. its almost like climbing a ladder

And this is me at the top, we found the pill boxes and I climbed up it to get a shot.

Spam. Apparently HAwaii Loves spam

Musubi is a japanese fetishization of spam and rice. Its actually pretty good. In a bachelor life style way. cheap eats for being on waikiki

Went to the art district. Saw some "graffiti" though this was all art projects from the local school. The detail and spread was immense. I have a solid 30 different photos of this stuff. different corners and stores. even dealerships!!

Went to a Luau a the Polynesian Culture center. new found respect for the Poly Isle and the Samoans. Great time and evengot to see the theater productions "life of Ha"

Some ex-president ate here as a kid. Had the Moco Loco..

Said Blonde is said taken and said high energy, But was a good travel partner and made the group that much more pretty. ( to compensate for my ugly) We are at Chinaman's Hat. We wanted to kayak out there but short liberty times and it was a weekend....

There is the hat... 20 min row I feel.

Did manage to get a swim at the beach front though. for being in the navy I dont swim enough..

Went to the Aviation Museum on Ford Island. Saw this bad boy. ive seen flying Fortress's before. This one is a new one. The swamp ghost was on a mission in the south west poly islands, a mission for the Australian folks, pilot ran outta fuel or something and put it down in a marsh, they went back to retrieve it and the whole thing sunk...

One of the artists from disney drew the placard for it, and the historian I was with said they wont rebuild it. as its more striking as is. You can see how durable the plane was.

More shots of Nikki, We found some strafing marks and bombing marks on Ford Island. You ened a DoD Id to get on without an escort so we had free roam of the island.

Paid my respects to the gents on the Utah

And the Arizona ( still down for maintenance)

And visited my favorite ship of all time and one of my favorite "things:" of all time. The Missouri! Id' reup for the Mo.

Two hot guns on standby

More of Nikki, we both work the modern equivalent of the Missouri's old CEC. In turn we ended up teaching the guide a thing or two about the post 88 equipement update the Mo got.

Epic Sunset, actually taken on the last day before we left. waikiki always looks good.

And on my way to the airport the next day. Ultra Rare Plymouth Prowler. That runs!

The only table saw I ever feared was the one we had back on the farm.

It was a tractor powered, belt driven buzz saw.

The fears were that it might kick back and fling the log you were cutting up in your face OR the belt slip off and knock you up side the head OR the saw could just simply cut your arm off.

(note all the safety guards/shields - )

I hated "saw days" when I was a kid -

Pretty much same story with my nephew. I couldn't figure out how his finger got close to the router bit when he's firmly grasping both handles and sliding the router on a flat surface. Then he started telling me, "I didn't feel like taking the trim off of the..."

Oh. Okay...

Table saws are definitely a tool to respect (only second to chain saws). If you really want one, and really want protection you could buy a Saw Stop table saw. It uses induction to detect a "fleshy" item like a finger and stops immediately. Bosch also sells one called Reaxx. (CORRECTION: Bosch no longer sells Reaxx. It was found to be in violation of the Stop Saw patents even though it uses different tech to stop the blade)

Most demoes use a hot dog but in this one (at the end) the inventor demonstrates it using his own finger.

This is the Bosch one

My last employer made heavy truck springs. On my first day I noticed that about 60% of the guys in the plant were missing at least 1 finger. Some as many as 3 or 4! I was getting worried as to what I had got my self into when one of them explained that all the missing fingers were from when those guys worked at the rad manufacturing plant across the street not the spring plant. Apparently the machines that cut the copper for the rad cores tended to catch fingers.

A guy I went to HS with tried to slash someones tires with a cheap knife. He ended up missing the tip of his index finger past the first knuckle. Best example of karma I have ever heard of.

My Gaska rv window seal foam arrived, so I got my windows back in.

If you notice the rust spot between the windows, there was a light covering it. I just removed it and found the rust spot. Two steps forward one step back...

Oh, I had my motorcycle riding years. When I got off my bike, I got into this. I found that "I" was much more stable with 4 wheels, while still enjoying the open air (plus mrs humfrz kept her eyes open much more of the time, in our roadster ).
