Throw out bearing

I just turned on my 2017 86 39000kms and for the first time it's made a whirling noise while I was sitting in idle I depressed the clutch and it went away is this the infamous throw out bearing ? Engine is warm so I can't hear it anymore.

If so generally how long do I have before it gets worse

Yes. Same issues as yours.
Depends. I noticed my whirling sound at 65k-ish then at 72k-ish it blew up at a taco bell drive-thru. Limped back home on 2nd gear.

So..... on other words get it fixed as soon as possible or ready up that AAA tow.

If it is a bad TOB (which would be a bit unusual with a 2017 at 39,000 kms), it will get worse every time the engine is running.

When will it lock up - it could be at any time.

I'd suggest you first look elsewhere for the warm engine "whirling" sound.

I know.
I also love to punish my ass hole from time to time. Just to keep it in line.
Great advice I got from you.
