Brand bias is funny. Lada could make a cool car, and I would think it's cool. Even shitty cars are often interesting.

I was watching a video on the failed Nissan GTR LM recently. After braking for 3 seconds at speed the KERS flywheel on that thing would be spinning at 60,000rpm. They had to enclose it in a vacuum because the outer edges are travailing at around mach 2

Technically varies with density and a modulus based on the composition of the medium, but yeah, temperature is a big factor in density.

It's ok, my boss told me not to let the tool dictate engineering process then told me to make the modern process we are following work with the archaic tool he is used to... in the same sentence.

Oof... those time, you wanna restate it, so make sure they understand how stupid they sound. I did that once to different department manager. She didn't like that lol

I did, I don't think he really gets it. I'm fighting 50 years of doctrine so ingrained into the culture they don't even realize why it exists in the first place and what shortcuts they slashed in the theory to make it work. They (my boss and customers) have been dodging answering the hard questions and pushing the buck for so long they don't know what those questions even are anymore.

The worst is when I say we are doing something, explain what and why in detail for hours, finally get them to repeat it back to me in their own words, get approval, and then they come back a week later saying they have no idea what we are doing because it doesn't look exactly like what they are used to. If what you are used to works so great, why are you paying me to change it?!?!

End rant...

Sounds like the sales manager here. We got in an argument last Friday. I could tell he could not understand what I was saying(because he doesn't listen) so I asked him to repeat what I said. When he did it was so far off everyone around us started laughing.

Except they get it right! That's the infuriating part!
