OK, I got it for the ultimate secure password.

I'm going to ask my 3 year old granddaughter to type out 17 characters (numbers, symbols, letters - higher and lower case) that make sense to her and use that as my password for all applications.

Just let the hackers try to crack THAT code -

This job is ridiculous.

I accidentally didn't update something last month because it was still in "testing" (though I could have updated stuff, but it wasn't strictly necessary). Then today I called in sick because I've felt like shit because my dad gave me his bad cold when we were in LA.

Then nearly all day two of our senior/lead software engineers on the team have been harassing me over our instant message app asking where my update on the thing was and questions about it.

Literally a non-critical component that isn't even 100% signed off yet, which I knew and was why I hadn't originally checked in my update for it.

They knew I'm out sick and spammed me anyway instead of using their GD heads that they get paid so much for and just a little intuition that would've led them to my update in about 15 minutes (IF they dawdled their way there).

Like for fuck sake, once I get my offer from the place I interviewed at last month and give my two weeks, I'm gone. If I was in a hospital bed this morning with an even more serious illness, would they still be spamming me for this one simple thing they're more than qualified to find on their own?

Like holy shit. I had to jump on our chat system and explain all this to them.

Anyway sorry to rant.

Well, I won't have to remember it. I'll ask her to write it down with a crayon, on a piece of paper and put it somewhere in pa-pa's desk where she will remember where it is -

Good advice. Since you already took today as a sick day it won't look unusual if you also take the next several days.

Talking about ranting...

First world ranting.....

Took a month of leave over Christmas and new years....was going down the coast to cruise the Great Ocean Road, then head up the coast to Coffs Harbour.

But

Bush fires everywhere, roads everywhere are closed, blocked or look like they are going to catch on fire shortly.

My holiday plans are binned.

In other news, my problems are a drop in the ocean to the strife that other are currently in.

These fires are bloody insane

A big thanks to the Canadians and yank firefighters that turned up to help.

If you live in the bush make sure you fire proof your house, we have lost soooo many people and properties.

Fire doesn't fuck around.

Fair point. Fortunately I’m usually the most level-headed on the team, and the one senior member of the team who constantly has breakdowns due to literal mental instability does this often without repercussions. So I think one outburst from me about it should be just fine.

My manager even replied to me on the chat saying not to worry about it, we can talk about it later when I feel healthier since it isn’t top priority.
