Nokian Hakkapeliitta R2

I just got to take this opportunity and recommend Nokian Hakkapeliittas just one more time.
They are superior to all other winter tires I've tried in any temperature, on any condition.
My current setup with Hakka R2 on 16" wheels squeals when I drive "spirited" on dry roads, but they don't feel squishy at all. Plus, they break traction very gradually and predictably.
They don't wear down too fast, either. Mine will easily last another season or two, and this is the second winter I have them.

As a sharp contrast, my first GT86 was delivered with Continental PremiumContact on 17" wheels, and they felt so squishy I stopped to check tire pressure on my way home from the dealership. They were overinflated.

Hakkas aren't made for bragging and white letters, they're just for driving :-)

I would never be able to ask for them . By the time I figured out the pronunciation it would be spring and I would not need them.

I'd just like to say that my Hankook Winter i*Pike tires handle extremely well. They're probably a better all season tire than the ones that came on the car, because they never let go in 60+ weather (the weather here is a yoyo, it can snow a foot one weekend and be over 60 the next). I have no doubt Nokian are a better snow tire though. My tire = mild winter, Nokian or similar probably = extreme winter.

Also, the tetanus shot can apparently f you up. Beware!

And In this area, usually by this time of year, we can still get snow but it doesnt really stick the way it would in January or February. Given how mild that this past winter has been, it wouldnt surprise me if we barely see any snow at all until later this year.

89 ft-lbs.

Yeah, that's pretty much my thought process. The next two weeks are forecasted to be well above 50F and closer to 75F most days. We might get one or two colder days, but I think it might be safe around here. Also, I have to break these new tires in before autocross on 3/19.

Based on the 2 week forecast here I am very optimistic that I will be doing a very early change this year. Normally I wait until mid April but things are looking likely for late March this year just based on the temperatures they are calling for.

yeah same here, weather is looking great on the west side.

Did you hear leonardo dicaprio thought he experienced global warming while filming that movie he won his oscar on. It was just a Chinook lamo. For those not familiar with that its when a warm front of air comes in from the west and the temperatures drastically change. pincher creek once went from -19C to +22C in less then 24 hours. More info in the link.

The greatest recorded temperature change in 24 hours was caused by Chinook winds on January 15, 1972, in Loma, Montana; the temperature rose from -48 to 9 °C

I'm thinking about planting my sunflowers early this year but I'm afraid of it frosting over one random night.

SMH Both wrong. The correct answer is Revolver.

And check this out. They really were brilliant.

Ugh, lost a post because I forgot posting from the "Advance" box leads to the application being blocked. @HunterGreene, if you need a winter tire, you can try the i*Pikes I mentioned earlier. You live a ways north of me, but you should have similar weather. Mine have survived three winters, two of which were incredibly harsh and sketchy, and still has 10/32 tread. Depending on how many seasons I want to run on them I'll probably throw them away well before they run out of tread.
