Sound Unusual?
I get this noise WITH THE AC OFF or on, It seems to come from the right side of my car when both windows are down. Cant seem to reproduce it any way sitting still other than just driving it ( Shifting, Downshifting, Disengaging the clutch, Accelerating, Braking, in straight lines, turning, going in reverse). So it has to have load on it.
I have noticed the noise for thousands of miles ( I'm at 22k). Was completely stock when I first started noticing the "Tinking" and have been in and out of the dealer for more serious issues like DI leaking, but haven't had a chance to bring this up yet to see what kind of story they'll make up and end up saying, "Oh that's Normal". Just like my HPFP chirping like a madman more than ever, especially after a spirited drive. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OCyJ5-10QyE"]VID 20130616 175852 - YouTube[/ame] Found the issue. Another forum member had mentioned this and agreed on the exact sound in the video was the sound he was hearing. parking brake has a faulty retainer that's causing the shoes not to stay in place. They slide back and forth under acceleration and braking occasionally causing a "clink" sound). Last edited by Carwhisperer; 06-18-2013 at 09:48 PM. |

Make sure your AC is turned Off. It makes a similar sound, but is not related seeming as though this sound seems to come from the right side of my wheel well area.

I've never heard of that noise. So, it only happens when both of the windows are opened fully? If the noise comes from the right side, have you tried leaving the driver side closed but passenger side fully opened?

I can hear it more clearly when the windows are down. Yes with the left window is down and the right window is up its not as loud, but when I have the right window down it is more clear.
