Crow's Landing Pro/Tour -- thanks for the show!
STX at the Tour was amazing -- we were packed into my car with the A/C on high and the radio tuned to course, watching you guys come directly at us between the first turnaround and the left-hand sweeper.
No one left anything out there. Seven of the top 20 pax finishers came from STX. Congrats to Steve OBlenes, Annie Gill and Ricky Crow, winner and trophy finishers in Twins, and also to Mack and Justin, who put up a great fight and drop in here to talk smack. |

Jeff Stuart in the 370Z decimated all of us in CS. He is an AMAZING driver. After the Pro, it was pretty obvious how talented and fast his is. I just couldn't catch up to Trevor (second place) in the Porsche 968 on the second day I am happy though to complete my first Tour with 3rd place finish, though However, I had a little more fun at the Pro. After doing my first Pro, I can see why it's so addicting! |

I got my ass kicked in STX! It was so so fun though. I had such a bad day Saturday at the tour there was not much I could do Sunday. But I did move up ONE spot Sunday. I finished 12 of 16 at the pro and 17 of 20 at the tour.
It really showed me how hard I have to be pushing at every element of the course to get as much as a can at every moment. I will be much better prepared for my next national event, this was my first Pro and Tour events and I can't wait to do more and see how I can improve now that I know the type of driving I need to be doing! A little more car prep won't hurt either. Congrats to @tigermack for holding down STX for the SFR locals both weekends! AND making the twins look beatable by a 20 year old, 4-door grocery getter!

STX was an amazing show! And great job on 3rd in CS, Erik! Also, congrats to Catherine Tran on her win in STXL.
I had a poor day on Saturday. Unfortunately I injured myself running to my work assignment later that day, and had to withdraw for Sunday (it just HAD to be my brake/pedal leg ). Still, it was a fun event and I'm glad I went! |

My driving was a disappointment. Time to work on the mental toughness when it comes down to it. Drove scared this weekend unlike my usual self. Props to @justint5387 but he couldn't keep it clean.

I thought SCCA mandated "windows down" during runs? Or is this regional only?

It is supposed to be windows down for the front. At least that's what this person told me one time at the start line...

If it's not in the rule book or in the supplementals for the event, it's not a rule. I know when it rains at least, those who still have windows will roll them up en masse.
On the open track it's different. SCCA and NASA rules require windows down, even in the rain - although some places relax this if you're doing a DE event in a street car. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, I've only done one open track day in the rain and I don't remember. At any rate there's a ton of audio feedback you don't get if you roll the windows up so it's to your advantage to leave them down...unless you're like the Ferrari 599 GTB I saw one day who wanted to leave his a/c on. |
