I’ve been working with a student to clone Venus fly traps. Their traps close while doing a sterilizing process and I figured that would be a contaminant vector. Started wondering if there’s an anti microbial already present since the close flys in. Turns out there is! Plumbagos is pretty gnarly even.

Growing up I used to haunt the only place they grow natively in the world (75 mile radius of Wilmington, NC). I probably am partially responsible for their endangered species status..

Rensenware
Rensenware (Korean: 련선웨어; stylized as rensenWare) is ransomware that infects Windows computers. It was created as a joke by Kangjun Heo (허강준; alias "0x00000FF") and first appeared in 2017. Rensenware is unusual as an example of ransomware in that it does not request the user pay the creator of the virus to decrypt their files, instead requiring the user to achieve a required number of points in the bullet hell game Touhou Seirensen ~ Undefined Fantastic Object before any decryption can take place. The main window displays Minamitsu Murasa, a character from the game. Heo released a patch that neutralizes Rensenware after accidentally infecting himself with it.

The other day I learned that Google has a mobile phone app that lets you take a photo of an image and it translates any words that are in the image. I tried it but it didn’t work right. Only about one out of every 10 words translated. I did better by typing the words into the computer translator. Some of the things didn’t make sense but I got the general gist of it.

The real kicker is, it’s a free three day trial but after that you are charged $14 automatically on an annual basis. Or, you can pay a onetime fee of $69. Nope, not gonna do it. Wouldn’t be prudent at this juncture.

I'm a little lost here.
I have Google Translate app in my phone. It will scan pics for text and translate off line in real time but one has the option of taking a pic, rubbing indicated text with finger then sending off for better translation.
I find the app very useful for Latin languages, not so much for Japanese.

The app I use is free, I don't know which app you're referring to.

False. It's that way because it knows you gotta have a good frame to support that rack.

TIL that if someone pushes the trunk key fob button on a 2013 FRS, then just puts it back on the key rack THEN opens the other car's trunk with the correct key fob, and doesn't tell anyone, that the trunk on the FRS will pop just enough to allow the trunk light to go on, but not be visible from the outside.

Then a 10 year old battery will run all the way down and pa-pa won't find out till he goes to go somewhere.

So, the word to the wise is, IF you have two key fobs that look alike on the same key rack AND you have teenage granddaughters that load up the trunk with their stuff in the OTHER car, check to make sure the trunk is CLOSED on YOUR car.

Did you have the teenage grandaughter assist with the battery replacement? Could be a good life lesson in the results of one's actions.

Go fast, take chances.

I learned my life lesson a few months into ownership. Disconnected the stupid trunk light.
