Windows 10 And Open Flash Manager

I will be picking up my OFT today and will be installing the OFM (Open Flash Manager). I see on the website there is a patch to run the OFM with Windows 8 that is required but does anyone know if it will work for Windows 10?

I am kinda new to this whole tuning thing and hope to fine tune the OFT myself. So much information for me to dig through

In case you are wondering I am installing the Gruppe UEL header tonight with the OFT and running 93oct down here in Florida. Everything else stock.

I had to run Open Flash Manager in Win 7 compatability mode in order for it to work in Win 10.

Right click, properties, compatability tab, Win 7 compatability box and run as admin.

Weird, I ran Open Flash Manager normally on both my Win 10 desktop and 8" Winbook tablet. No compatibility modes needed. Go figure.

Yea just wanted to double check because on the website they warned there could be a checksum error when uploading files. I deal with enough IT issues at work and rather not have to come home and work some more lol.

I would run the patch, just in case. It's a C++ redistributable patch, so chances are you'll need it under 10 as well.

on my upgraded 7-10 i didn't run the win8 patch. OFM works just fine. on my surface pro (win8-10) it had the patch alrady, works fine. Either way, i have it on two win10 boxes, so you'll be fine.

The patch is only if you're uploading new tunes to the OFM, so the checksum is corrected properly. If all you did was open OFM, that isn't a sign it's actually working.

So I finally flashed my car with the stage2 UEL 93 tune and I am a bit underwhelmed. There is a bit of lag or delay in the throttle. I read that I may need to drive it for awhile to let it relearn the throttle position but not sure how long. I thought maybe I had an exhaust leak but the LTFT are steady at -1.56 at idle with no crazy +/- 10 variation while driving. Anyone has any input or should I just give it a week to see if the OFT starts doing it thing?

Next time you drive, first put it into ON without starting engine, and depress the pedal all the way and back up 10-15 times. It should help a lot with the dead pedal. Otherwise, it will fix itself over a few days time.

Most of us have the same issue. This is common on cars with drive-by-wire.

Turn the car on, but don't start it. Then press the throttle pedal down to WOT 20-30 times. Turn the car off, then repeat. The throttle body will now have its learned positions, and should resolve the problem.

For anyone in this thread looking for info on compatibility with OFT and Win10, I ran the utilities using administrator rights and had no issues. I loaded a tune from the OFT website onto my tablet, and flashed it. I have not yet used romraider in Win10.
