I do not even have a 86 yet. Haha. I am just researching about possible options as I plan tp buy my car around fall of this year. If I do go FI after I buy a 86, OTS tune like Cosworth 2.3 or e-tuners like Delicious are pretty much my only option since there are no good fa20 tuners around in Korea.

Im no expert on exhaust systems, but arnt the silencers one of the biggest restrictions?

I would have thought restrictive silencers on a 3inch bore system is worse than less restrictive silencers on a 2.5inch system?

The Cosworth Exhaust is VERY loud = less restrictive

As long as the silencers are straight through type then there's no difference in restriction levels

the noise reduction then comes down to the volume of the box
a big box = quieter exhaust

Thats good to know. Cheers.

Given the price and noise of the Cosworth Exhaust, I will probably get Hayward and Scott to add a big silencer(s) to their manifold back and get a stepped cermaic coated mainifold from P&L or JDL.

Cosworth Exhaust costs £3500!!!

I dont plan to go stage 3 (though I am eagerly awaiting their stage 3 unvail - soon I hope) so 2.5inch is probably fine.

If it 260hp with stock exhaust, I imagine a full 2.5inch system should make up most of the 20hp for alto less than £3500...

I wouldn't expect the full 20Bhp for a 2.5" exhaust, for that much power you need a big pipe , hence Cosworths use of 3" pipe

you'll probably get an extra 10-12Bhp over the stock exhaust though

@RallySport Direct Im interested in the MAP sensor Cosworth selected for this charger. Its hard to tell from the photos, I think this is the part number: 0 281 002 437? Is this MAP the same size and fitment as the OEM 5psi unit? It also looks like a 4pin connector (I'm assuming for integrated IAT) vs. the stock 3pin. Was there a jumper pigtail harness that came with the kit to connect the new MAP to the old harness?

Thanks! Awesome build by the way.

its a new Bosch 3bar sensor with integral temp sensor

and yes the kit includes a jumper harness to point the new temp input back into the ECU , replacing the temp input from the original MAF sensor
