A brz on placentia turning onto yorba linda in placentia. Around 2pm waved to you but not sure if you could see through the tint with the gloom.

subaru owners dont wave, its not much of a subaru really, no turbo, no 4wd, and imagine being associated with a scion!! oh jeez

Whats worse? an enthusiast with modded car who sees you wave and ignores you or the bone stock car who does not see anything?

I've gotten a handful of peace signs and thumbs ups, not sure if I've been spotted here per-se. I always make an effort to give some kind of recognition to fellow twin drivers, but a lot of them seem to oblivious to notice.

Saw a blue BRZ a couple weeks ago, and I doubt I've ever seen someone look so rigid while sitting in traffic. Didn't turn his head once or even really shift position. Could've sworn he was a mannequin.

Unless it's someone I know, I generally don't wave nor do I care to wave.

Does that make me unenthusiastic? Does that make me a bad car owner?

Just because a car owner doesn't respond in kind doesn't mean it is a bad thing. To each their own and you'll have more fun enjoying your own car.

nope. but happened me two times where modded frs shows up behind me, staggered so I see them on my side view mirror, gets on my ass at a light, I stick my hand out the window. ZERO reaction.

I'm wary around stock cars but I have a clearly modded frs and if I see another modded one and they ignore me it just seems kinda lame. It's not even just 86s, if I pull up next to any sort of tuned car I usually exchange some sort of nod or something.

If it's stock, I still wave but assume if I get nothing they might just not know there's a community for this.

Maybe I'm not old enough yet to be cynical, but even if someone on the street says hi to me I say hi back. Everyone these days is so reclusive. Like its some personal insult to wave at someone.

Its also a california/internets problem. We are in our metal boxes or in front of one all day and think we are alone in this world. Try honking one day, see how people rage almost immediately.

I'm sorry, this is a problem that existed long before you got your car, and this is a problem that will exist long after you've turned into dust.

It's only a problem if you let it be a problem. Stop worrying about what others think/feel/react and live your own life, drive your own roads.

If someone else doesn't want to respond, just think that they are missing out on YOUR fun. No need to do anything else or pass judgment.

I don't pass judgement at anyone who fails to respond, but I do and am perfectly justified in calling people who actively express displeasure (scowl, intentionally failing to meet gaze (don't pretend this isn't obvious), flipping the bird) at a small hand wave killjoys.

If you say hi to someone on the street and they flip you off, you're not the jerk haha.

But I agree, and I don't care if anyone just doesn't notice or care. If I did, I would've stopped waving long ago.

Man in New York everyone just leans on the horn like it's communication. My friends from back east always remark at how little people in cali honk - when we do it's usually serious rage haha
