Not so much a character flaw, just too anxious for that finish line.

Sounds like you could benefit from a step down in rates or a swaybar adjustment.

BUT...if you've had your rears rebuilt 2 years ago and your fronts never, they could have some decent wear. That's a pretty darn good run. I'd evaluate that and your suspension bushings first. Feel free to PM me to talk more!

Is there a specific bushing you have in mind? I have whiteline front bushings in the front of the FLCA(they are new last fall as the originals both faiied), diff bushings, then i think everything else is stock.

I am thinking it could be time for a checkup on the fronts, not sure how that works.

I have hotchkis bars both set on full soft. I suppose I would put the front 1 hole stiffer prior to next event. I sometimes feel that the car pushes, but, I also think that could be a bit of over driving/steering input.

I took out some compression on the rear mid event last event, didn't seem to notice much, but others mentioned the same complaints in our second heat of no grip.

So far the setup is working really well for me. Car handles amazing. It's been the fastest thing not on slicks at my last couple local events. Managed 4th place in STX at my first Pro Solo in Packwood.
Couldn't have asked for an easier car to drive at the limit.

I think you mentioned that you were worried you had a bad front bushing or tie rod? The big control arm one can tear (like your originals)...even poly bushings.

Also check ball joints and tie rods for play. Double check your rear alignment (I hate the toe adjusters).

Yes - Inside edge of FR is smooth as can be(1inch max) and FL inside edge is starting to look the same but nowhere as bad. This wear was noticed after last track weekend. I came directly off track and on the trailer so no street use on tires, so shouldn't see much camber wear.

My weekend plan is to try and figure out how to test the ball joints and tie rods. I am ordering new FLCA bushings today. Going w/ superpro. Alignment to follow

Didn't put together that that was you at the Packwood Pro. I was STX #60, the grey BRZ.

I couldn't put together a good right side run

Congrats on 4th!

Thanks Man!
I think getting the second fastest run on the right side says you did great over there!
I was behind on the left side, a good second off pace.

Congrats on getting second place! You and Glen put down awesome times.

Yeah, 1st loser lol

But thanks. I was happy enough with my left side run but got into my own head with red lights and cones on Saturday.

I just switched to the 5k/9k setup which is a little loose off the corner with low-grip packwood. Needed an event or two more of practice before Tour/Pro.

Interesting. I had been under the impression most people went with a more square setup.
What are your front/rear sway bars?

I'm on 400 lbs/in front and rear
Hotchkis 1" bar on soft in front, oem PP (16mm) bar in rear.

Chang/Lugod car was set up around 5k/9k spring rates and an OS Giken diff

e1 griego and m0nk3y are both on that path iirc

Early successful cars were about 400/400 and that's what the Racecomp/KW T2's come with and I believe that's where the Proparts/Wong/Heitkoter setup is currently.
