Bridgestone Potenza RE760
Anyone got any experience with these?
Id grab PSSs but they're a bit over my budget since after shipping to hawaii it'll run me close to a 1000 for a set (not including mount and balance)... so I'm looking at the RE760 as an alternative. My only concern with these RE760 (245/40r17 @ 25lbs) is that it'll put my wheel and tire combo at 44lbs per corner, will this be noticeable for DD and spirited run? Does anyone have any other suggestions?? Im looking for a tire with good turn in response and corner stability. |

I have them in 215s and they are pretty good. They were on wheels I bought. Road noise isn't bad, grip is decent. My own money in that category, I'd get Hankook V12s though.
If you want serious grip though, look into Hankook RS3, but it won't last as long as RE760/V12, but will be VERY grippy. Edit: I autocross a lot, I do everything to keep weight off of the car so believe me when I say, don't worry weight of the tires. Quality of the tire is more important than anything, a few pound difference vs a crappier compound is NEVER worth it

I have used 4 sets of the RE750/RE760 series many years for my Prelude. Each of this set last about 75k/80k miles w/ rotation for my DD commuting. It has good hydroplane, nice comfort, quiet road noise and decent price. You can see tirerack performance test review the 760 compare to others.

i personally like bfgoodridge. Their tires are cheap, and they work well.

interesting, i overheated my tires(v12) too quickly when i aired them that high. although, they are a bit too fat for my rims. they like 32-34 psi cold much better. and even at that psi they dont feel vague. the stock tires felt like a much softer sidewall.

Good thread I am looking for feedback on tires for me too because my route on the car for now is some driving to work and some weekend autocross unfortunately they don't do autocross on fort myers, florida i have to drive 2 hours to tampa or Miami so I have to take that in the account to that until I have seen the Dunlop z2 they have a good price on tire rack and Michelins pilot super sport any other tires you guys can recommend would appreciate I am going to run 225/45/17 front and 245/45/17 rears thanks guys

RE760 is comparable to tbhe PSS, but the PSS would be better all around. The Z2 is in a different class than these other two though. Z2 is heads and shoulders above these in terms of grip. However, you get a lot more road noise and a slightly stiffer ride with the Z2.

And my tires setup is good? Wouldn't hurt the car? My car is stock but my first mod will ne tires I know 225/45/17 square is a good setup but i like 245 how it looks but I have to know too if itwill help too onthe autox thanks guys

I was thinking about the RE760 but it seems the S04 might be a better fit for me. They are more performance oriented and cheaper. Although less thread wear.
