It’s 5mm. Under a 1/4”. You could probably get that from untorquing the subframes and shifting them away from the center .

I find it interesting that they're claiming the new car will be '1.1 seconds faster 0-60'. I don't care much for somewhat arbitrary 'numbers', but I'm eager to experience how it actually feels in my own personal 'seat-of-pants' meter.
Uhhh, the previous gen manual does 0-60 in 6.2 seconds. Maybe slightly slower to 62. The auto was much slower. Odd that Toyota has it so slow.

0-60 is equal to 0-96 km/h. I think 0-62 is equivalent to 0-100km/h.

Ive seen the official 0-100km/h time be either 7.4 or 7.6.

I dont think second gear can rev to 60mph so you have to shift just before it, which i think accounts for a bit of the time increase.

Plus C&D uses aggressive launch technique to get that 6.2s time (6000rpm clutch drop or something). They always seem to have the fastest 0-60 times.
I think non-aggresive launches would be closer to just shy of 7 seconds 0-60.
Isnt the official 0-60 time like 6.5 or 6.9 seconds or something around there?

Just a thought, the small wheel base change could be related to some increased front caster...

Yea I think that’s very likely.

Is the new GR86 coming with Prius Primacies too?

The interesting part for me is that I loathe nearly all of Toyota's modern styling. Most of their new cars, especially the new Yaris, Corolla, Prius and Supra are overstyled and will date badly IMO. The 86 seems to be the only modern Toyota where they exercise some styling restraint, and it is better off for it. Should age well.

I think it looks great. If I hadn’t already had an FR-S, I’d probably pull the trigger. It will definitely get a test drive out of me.

Yeah - I like it better than the BRZ (and hey, more power!). Still not convinced it's better looking than the FRS, but better than the 86 front end.

The profile view is not bad but it's still a shame to lose the curves on the front fenders. Also - still not sure how I feel about the HVAC pods.

Talk about a major letdown. I was all excited to see that Toyota had something important to show us on April 5th.
I was eagerly awaiting a AWD hot hatch (with the sexy 3 pot) for North America because we are not getting the GR Yaris. Toyota even hinted at this in one of its press releases.

They even talked about postponing the GR86 launch because Akio Toyoda demanded the GR86 to be substantially different than the BRZ.
And what do we get? A Gen2 BRZ with a different bumper (which does look better imo).

The front is definitely better than the new Subaru variant.

I can't stand the rear half though. The trunk. The tail light design. Those stupid shark fins sticking out behind the rear wheels on the quarters/bumper.

Mixed feelings on the interior. Some aspects I like, and some I don't. I do hope the US gets the option for red interior/carpet though.
