That's not what he's saying. He's questioning why they stipulate that they only want their test performed on a specific brand of dyno.

I know! It's just a filter. A drop in too. If you don't like how they do things, just don't buy it.

I completely agree with you, you know what is the problem? The claims from manufacturer for this filter are double what other drop ins are, and at double the cost. To top it off, they have been unwilling to have their filter dynoed independently (until recently and with restrictions which keeps making a shady situation "shaddier").

So, this whole situation has grown very big and out of proportion because there is a group of owners anxious to see these claims independently verified (and ready to give props if they are true), but seeing months go by with nothing to show for. This makes them feel lied to. That is the main problem, people are already weary on absurd Dyno claims (a.k.a the Vivid Racing Experience) and this, in its own different way, so far feels like one of this words: (lies, hidden, unverified, mysterious, false, etc).

I smell a rat here. You don't mention what dyno you used and this doesn't look like it has been generated by a computer. I am an investigator and my trained eye is looking at you with some suspicion

In all honesty people need to relax a bit. What is stopping you from dyno-ing this filter? Funny how the people argue about this...and pathetic to some extent. I mean FFS, is an AIR filter...not a turbo. and you're spending less than a 100 bucks on it!!!
Yeah, maybe the seller might not have the best abilities to do business, maybe he needs to adjust a bit, maybe you might need to give him a break.
At the end of the day, you can take this bloody filter, and have two run on the SAME fucking dyno : baseline and with the filter. Easy as that. Instead of arguing, just get it done.
Not wanting to point out the finger at anyone really, but fuck me...the ones that complain about this are the ones that can't afford a dyno. or the other way around. So fucking what is almost double? Is not like we are talking millions here guys, or not even hundreds.
To end this, maybe it is better to get some testing done and see the results, than you can easily sell it at the same price as any fucking oiled air filter and recoup some of your money. You only lost 20-30 bucks. If that is making you richer or poorer than fuck, you might need to rethink your tuning strategy and look into adding some el cheapo stickers on the side, a nice subaru scoop on the bonnet, a fake front intercooler and think you're the shit!
As for the exhaust issue: to the seller: I know you got butthurt because he said directly in the face that he will copy it. So what? You should feel proud matey, because he is not copying the competitor. Have seen any cars made by China to copy hyundai? Nope!
Seller, please get your shit together and act like a person that does business here. Be proactive, answer questions, crack a joke, sort your delivery times, the supply, etc. Shit dude, people here are expecting this from any seller, so they will pound you with questions like there is no tomorrow. Soem will not understand the ins and outs your business, so from a customer view there are no excuses like : I am the only one, I had a holiday, etc.

Sorry if i am too direct but I dont sugar coat, and appologies if some will get offended but hey, that is what I think!

I do get that mate, I was just trying to point out that it shouldn't matter which dyno so long as people are sensible to look at it as a % change and not a numerical increase. That's why baselines ARE important.

They're only important if people are honest about the afterwards dyno run too. There are a few suspect dyno sheets being given out by some vendors on this website which you can tell are blatently rigged if you know what you're looking for.

The problem is vendors seem to forget there are people out there who are smarter than they and can see through these tricks. Any automotive engine engineer knows that you can't just bolt something on and get a pretty much proportionate increase in torque throughout the power range.

I don't disagree with you. I just took it to heart a little because he was selling the filter based on unproven claims, knowing that there are people who aren't auto tech savvy enough to see through it. That's just not the right thing to do to what is supposed to be your automotive community.

I already gave up any hopes (actually, never really had any) of this filter performing as advertised. It's damn near identical to the K&N (and other similar style drop-ins), and I don't believe in magic.
