I agree with jawn, it looks to be a job for duct tape.

Open up a beer, clean the area with alcohol, cut a piece of black duct tape, rounding off the corners, ...... and stick it on there.

Finish the beer.

That would have been good back in the old days, when cars were made out of stuff other than plastic.

Maybe plumbers tape and pop rivets would be better, if the duck tape doesn't stay on .......

I'd use some epoxy, scrap plastic the length of the crack and patch it from behind until the winter is over the replace the part for $22 (even cheaper at a junk yard).

The piece you mentioned is called the "Splash shield" but it seems more like an under cover. The part I am referring to is Part # SU00301383 and costs $120 which seems more likely. Hopefully I am wrong.
There is a much more robust piece that is this more expensive piece instead of the part you show in the picture. You need to pull the cover off to make sure the structural $120 piece you list above is not broken. You will gain clarification of what you actually need too. I am confident yours is the cheaper part. The cheaper part covers the more expensive part. If your outer piece of trash plastic piece is broken, it will be cheap. If the covered thicker and gusseted piece of crap structural plastic is broken- it will be expensive.

Rivet the duct tape. From both sides. Maybe some JB weld too. Jkjk. Just replace it. Don't be a savage

Ah i'm pretty sure you're right about that. It seems to be double stacked looking at this pic I just pulled up.

@stevesnj <- It probably is the $30 piece like you said earlier in this thread!

It's gonna get up in there no matter what. I've always debated whether or not it's better to leave those dang covers off and just rinse of the underside of my cars frequently here in Salt City America (Syracuse), rather than have those plastic pans shield the bottom from fresh water washes. OR.. is it better to just leave the salt all crusted on all winter long, rather than drive it deeper with the pressure from washing it?

The answer is... it doesn't matter. Salt WILL eventually eat your car. Just drive the thing and enjoy it. If you have a car you want to last forever, don't drive it in salt. Buy another car for that.

Ya takes yer choices.

FFS it's a piece of plastic... know what we call those around here? Wee parts. Why wee parts? because you grab them, remove them and toss them away (and they go weee into the night).

Seriously that thing was beat to shit on my is300 I just removed it and tossed it... nothing bad ever happened and that was 3 years ago.
