No.The FACT you can't buy quality in the suspension world with $1000.

How much lower than stock are you trying to be? I don't know what '1" wheel gap' means and you will have to sacrifice comfort for looks regardless due to the suspension travel if you're talking about being 2" lower than stock. Hell a picture means more to me than "1 inch gap"

Bilstein B14/B16
KW V1
Ohlins R&T

I believe all of the above suggestions (not just mine) will be uncomfortable at 2"+ lower than stock because you're relying on the bumpstops to keep the car from bottoming out and you should be looking at suspensions designed specifically for going low.

you do know most of the $1000 coilovers are made in the same factories with the same parts as the more expensive counterparts, they just change out the paint color on most of these things. by your logic my car should have fallen apart by now or flew off the road because i dont have a quality suspension. the truth is the BC coilover is better than factory and i have used mine year round for years and have zero issues, and they ride good because i set them up properly.

Have you track tested stock vs BC to see if they're actually any quicker around a track? Are they measurably more comfortable than stock? Have you seen the shock dynos showing different dampening between shocks in the same box?

Which model line of BC's? Their base models are significantly cheaper than their higher end offerings.

If no to those, then how are they actually better than stock?

I think you'll find most people will say the same for almost all the cheaper coilovers, regardless of color or label.

Was literally just in another thread complaining about bouncy ride on BC BR coils and I'll re-iterate here, same as that thread, that it is likely incorrectly set preload. Watch the video on post #5 of the following thead for details on setting preload.

Here's a diagram of the gap I'm talking about. I took digital calipers and measured 1.075" from the fender to the top of the tire. I know its the norm to measure from the center of the wheel to the fender, so that's probably the where the mixup is. I can take that if you like, but don't have it on hand. I'm not going slammed or anything crazy. Just bringing it down to a modest 1". That's it.

Hm...didn't think I ever needed to adjust that, an installation video said that to never touch the preload settings as its the best it can be out of the box, or something like that.

I'll give this a shot, would prefer to work with what I already have if it will fix the issue, otherwise I don't mind looking for other options.

It's supposed to be optimally set out of the box but with cheap coils, you just never know. Quality control is one area they tend to cut corners so if it was set wrong by the assembler it may go unnoticed until it's in your hands. After you've played with it a bit, let us know how it goes for you.

Try raising the ride height, get an alignment, and then see how you like that as a temporary solution. The increased height will take away most of that jarring feeling.

Nothing I would ever buy would come from any of those factories. I don't care what colours they are.

I've told people to buy literally anything else. It's amazing they get so much business compared to genuinely good offerings like TEIN and ST which cost the same.

I think I've found the issue... there's a 1" gap between each spring coil on the driver rear coilover, but every other coilover has about 2" between each spring coil.

I feel like this could be throwing the car's dynamic and balance out of whack. This spring is super preloaded. I don't know if I did this while installing it, or it came this way from BC. I have a feeling this is the issue, unless its meant to be this way? Seems odd to have just 1 coilover preloaded. I tried to adjust the preload but the damn rings will not budge. I think I'm going to have to take it off to adjust it. So frustrating.
