Yeah, looking at used prices paid is hard to configure "was that a good deal" or not. We can compare what KBB says, versus what is paid. The kicker is 2-3 months later a car that is already 1-2 years old, could drop $500-1000 in value in that time frame.
The New car price paid is valuable , and look at the region / state at which the person bought the car. That can speak volumes on real value/price paid. Also time of the year. I'd think the best time to get the best deal would be end of Sept.( which is end of 3rd quarter) …. into December (December 30-31st being the best time of the year period, since it's end of the 4th quarter, and end of the year, so any/all sales a dealership can make before that deadline is important and as a buyer **Best time to buy**). Worst time to buy I'd think would be April thru August, generally speaking.

Just doing a quick look around at dealerships online, I noticed you can find better deals in the northern states where people probably don't want a RWD car.
I can't find a dealership within 100 miles of me who'll sale a new BRZ for less than MSRP. |

Keep in mind you can almost always negotiate price if they are asking MSRP or near online. BRZ is not new anymore, and I would never pay MSRP.

I really think the dealer would have knocked off another $500 if only I walked away. Maybe $1000. My negotiating skills... kinda suck. lol
Note for next time: definitely walk out at some point and make them reel me back in. |

Interest rates are rising so any who are contemplating financing a new vehicle should pay close attention. A rise of just a few points can add a couple thousands bucks to the cost of your new ride.
I got 1.8% for my BRZ in Nov 2013 and I probably could of whittled that down its bit. 15 months ago I financed my wife’s car for 2.1 through a credit union the dealership was in the high 3’s. Gotta look at all the angles and have at least one source of financing ready. |
