That would drive me absolutely nuts. I'd do everything I physically can to get that even.

That's why I posted and asked. It's bizarre to me.

Has anyone else noticed this on the 2022s? Or am I just watching reviews of rushed jobs? I attached 3 examples for reference. (HKS, Greddy and MXP examples). I find it hard to believe that 3 different systems would have identical issues. Are the hanger mounts a little different this time around?
In the video of the Greddy EVO GT on the black BRZ the dude said the exhaust was damaged from use on their other car and that he was going to fix it eventually. Feel like I've seen plenty that appeared straight since, as I've kinda been looking at that

What have you guys picked up in the last few days and where have you got it from?
CSG Touring86
Magnaflow dual
Borla
JBA
Invidia N1
Invidia Q300

Everything else is backordered.

If you're set on a specific model that's not immediately in stock, you'll need to just order and wait, as global supply chain issues still haven't really eased up.

I watched that video too; however that damage all looked cosmetic - and wouldnt really affect how the hangers hold the exhaust. Interested in any other findings or thoughts - I know the Perrin has a ton of issues getting aligned period; but thats thanks to multiple v-bands and the pipe twisting to get everything perfect.

I thought the first gen had this issue too? Remedied with longer exhaust hangers on the right side.

Weird, I found the Perrin was actually super easy to adjust.

The Perrin was a bit fiddly since you need to twist the S pipe to adjust the depth of the tips. It was a 10 minute process to adjust, shake it around, then check your work. Easy enough.

Back when I had my Perrin we needed someone to hold the muffler + tips exactly where they wanted it. Then tighten the 2 vbands. Worked perfectly, but kinda impossible without a buddy helping.

That would be a lot easier, haha. I just had to get under the car like five times to get it right.

The side to side is easy with the locking shaft collars that Perrin uses at least.

So what are y'alls recommendations for a very tame exhaust? I was considering the Borla S-type, and I like the sound, but it still seems a little loud and obnoxious for me, and the tips seem large. I wish I could listen to them all in person, cause watching all these cell-phone shot videos on youtube makes it really hard for me to tell what I'd be getting in person.

If tunes were available for this car I was honestly considering getting a UEL catted header and leaving the exhaust stock just for a EXTREMELY subtle engine/exhaust sound upgrade. Only reason Im not considering it at this point is I couldnt stand to look at the CEL and I'd worry an un-tuned header swap could slowly fuck something up.

The gen 1s could run an uncatted header and a defouler to avoid CELs. You'd still probably run rich, and would want a tune (most settled for a OFT, since they hold their value and resell easily). That way you could do the header and tune that is easily reversable (at least once tunes are available for the Gen2).

Otherwise, almost every exhaust is rather tame on an OEM header. Except for maybe the Corsa in terms of volume. So long as its resonated and has a normal muffler (not a coffee can style) it'll have low to no drone and wont be obnoxiously loud.

I truly think the Corsa is the best all around catback out there right now for the price! No drone at all, not one bit. It is a sublime sounding exhaust.

Still hoping somebody does a muffler delete video on the 2nd gen before I become the Guinea Pig lol. My backup solution is a K-Tuned turndown cannon muffler, would definitely look different than pretty much every other 1st or 2nd Gen on the street. Could be an interesting option I think. I know I saw a post somewhere that stated what the Gen 2 oem exhaust size is. Was it 2.5 inch or only 2.25?
