A properly implemented pit cooks just as well and as evenly as a spit, without all the trouble of turning it. Like you though, I'll happily help get rid of "the evidence" from either one.

I will have to get a picture of the spit roaster that was cooked on. You can sort of see the front of it but it is spectacular. A check plate trailer with a 150 gallon aluminum transport truck gas tank cut in half. The spit has a fully powered 12v drive that turns and raises it so no manual work at all. Buddy of mine built it from scratch.

Unrelated to the delicious looking pig above, here's a nifty article about using light in optogenetics to modify mitochondria to fight cancer.

It is truly a work of art. Looking forward to more crispy parts and cheesy bread!

Oh what you saw was the Beta version. It has been through at least 8 revisions since then.

Not quite but we've been getting random Amazon packages with catnip in it, figured it was just an admin error.

TIL that the MT vs AT debate looks like a friendly discussion over tea compared to the "No EV no way" crowd that drops in on the EV threads in the Cadillac forums.

My favorite one is the guy who says he takes a very long road trip several times a year and that an EV would turn it from a 12 hour drive into a day and a half or 2 day drive. When you explain to him that the only difference between driving an EV and ICE are charge times vs fill-ups, and then proceed to show him using Tesla's road planning software (because he says the only EV he would consider is a Model S Long Range) that the difference is about two hours with six stops between 10 minutes and 40 minutes, he just basically says "don't try to confuse me with your facts".

Can't believe I'm actually defending EVs now.

This is exactly the same issue I had when trying to talk the wife into going EV. She is convinced that the charging tech has not advanced since about 1995 and every EV takes a minimum of 8 hours to charge. No amount of proof that is not true will change her thoughts. The reality is that her normal use is almost the text book perfect example of the benefits of an EV.
