Yes I think you nailed it. In the beginning I didn't even see that indent on the rods lol! Once I read about the rods on another Subaru forum (no such info when I first bought them), I had the rods readjusted after a year, but it was close (one rod was already at 3mm, the other at 2.5mm so we readjusted it to 3mm).

I emailed STI Japan about the Sports Muffler and they confirmed Sakamoto doesn't make them anymore but wouldn't tell me who makes them now either, so I guess it's indeed Fujitsubo.

For those interested in the 2015 tS bumper garnish, I picked up the Euro Domestic Subaru chrome bumper garnish today. I opened it up and discovered that the piece itself is not actually chrome! What it is, is basically a faux chrome underlay with a clear plastic gel-like overlay and sticky glue (not 3m) on the underside. Not sure how well this is going to paint, but @Trap63 didn't seem to have a problem! Stay tuned, I'll have progress pics once paint and other materials arrive.

I find it interesting that they are using both the strut tower brace and the flexible v-bars. Previously it was one or the other. Guess they're following @DSOmegaX now!

Looks like most all of the other parts (probably except for springs/maybe some other suspension stuff) are staying the same too. Good news for our wallets.

i think it is because the new chassis has lower NVH and reinforcements.

Also see how the Bilstein package is missing from the catalog, probably got to re-tune them again.

BTW any driving feedback on the draw stiffeners?

Haven't had the chance to install them yet. May possibly have them in by this weekend tho. I will be sure to provide photos and feedback once they are in.

Hey @DSOmegaX or @Mr.Impreza or even @krayzie super naive question but I really now nothing about exhausts outside of catback meaning starting back from the catalytic converter and axleback meaning starting back from the axle (I may be wrong in those assumptions as well). Anyways, I understand now that Fujitsubo is high quality so assuming I went with the Authorize R Fujitsubo setup, could I also combine that with the STi Sports Muffler? Obviously after removing the Authorize R tips.

Basically the simplified exhaust system is as follows:

Engine -> Header -> Catalytic Converter -> Downpipe -> Muffler

Axleback just means it's basically just the muffler.

The STI Sport Muffler is designed to connect to the stock midpipe, where the connector is at the left side.

Here's a picture of the Sakamoto stock catback vs the Fujitsubo Authorize R catback system, see how the midpipe connections are different (Fujitsubo has a Y joint design approaching the muffler):



Me personally I would want a system with the least amount of joints as possible, less points of failure causing a leak.

Correct me if I'm wrong here, but JDM OEM optional exhaust has to meet JARI standards just like the stock car (gov emissions and noise requirements). JDM aftermarket exhausts are usually JASMA certified quality standard and it's probably not as stringent in terms of noise and emissions (then again I thought JASMA was created to get gov authorization to stay legit), but then you should get more gains in performance thru less flow restriction designs?

You can research these orgs to get a better understanding:

JARI - Japan Automobile Research Institute (gov partnership R&D with the high speed loop track you always see on Best Motoring)
JASMA - Japanese Automotive Sports Muffler Association (jointly created by a bunch of aftermarket manufacturers to set some standards)
