WR Blue Limited 6MT
140 miles into a 350 trip to pick up my new ride! Riding in my 2007 G35 with my Escort Passport keeping me safe. I'll be driving back right after I pick it up. Wondering how I should handle the ride back while breaking it in.

Trading in the G for the BRZ? Try to vary your RPM's on the drive back and remember NO CRUISE CONTROL. Best of luck with everything and congrats!

You have an awesome user name. Mace would fit in with the RZA and GZA. The last sports car I had before the BRZ was also a G35. That was a plush oven mitt whereas the BRZ is a driver's glove.

Did the deal. Spent a lil more then I'd like but on good things like extended warranty. Got it with 9 miles. Got 160 on it now. 160 rogue before in home.

Congrats man. WRB! My unicorn. I should have been more patient and waited, but oh well. Still love my Argento FR-S. Whats the first mod planned?

@TRD.
Thanks a lot! Ill save my performance differences until I am done with the 1000 mile break in. In terms of my drive back home to night, I was very happy. The negatives- 1)Miss my steering wheel audio controls. Ill get used to it. 2)The stereo system is a significant step down from the Gs Bose system. I am not an audiophile or anything but I immediately noticed the difference. The Positives- 1)I felt more comfortable in the BRZ which was the 2nd 5 hours of a 10 hour round trip, which is impressive. 2)Technology was astonishing. My 2007 G could not compare. The Bluetooth streaming is amazing! To me the touch screen Nav/Audio controls are great. I know People have been hating on this but compared to what I have had, it is great. The people that I called with the phone function said that I sounded great. 3)I made the 330 mile trip on one tank but I stopped at a couple gas stations. The bystander awe factor was defiantly up. I think it is a combination of the WR blue and unique look. @jflogerzi You wanted the WRB? Instead of being more patient I drove further to get mine. It is hard to hold out!!! My first mod is to get the clear side markers. After that, Intake. Then Exhaust. I opted in for extended warranty. So I want to make sure there wont be a conflict between the dealers and my mods. Any info on this??? I was thinking Injen intake and SRT header back exhaust. Are those going to become warranty problems? |

Cruise control keeps it at a constant speed and RPM. Im guessing that could be part of it.

The ride home was very fun. I averaged probably about 70 mph. I tried my best to keep it under 4k rpm. I defiantly surpassed that a few times, but not more then 5k.
I found myself in 6th and 5th most of the way revving between 3-4k. When I could, I would let go of the gas and let the engine do the deceleration. I also stopped a few times to make side road detours so I could get 1st, 2nd and 3rd gear involved. In addition, I read a lot about getting a good seal... So after the engine was nice and warm, I floored it from 0-4k to get a better seal. I only did that during the first 75 miles though. Trying to get my baby in good shape! She now has 350 miles on her. Tail of the Dragon ASAP. |
