Three definitions from the wiki page for "shooting brake":

"A sleek wagon with two doors and sports-car panache, its image entangled with European aristocracy, fox hunts and baying hounds"

"A cross between an estate and a coupé"

"Essentially a two-door station wagon"

I'd say that fits the bill. The examples pictured on the page certainly match what we're seeing above.

The "shooting brake" part was not in question.

It is only a matter of time before one of the other clickbait sites starts yelling "GR86 Shooting Brake on it's way. Insider states it will be a 400 HP turbo with 11"wide rear wheels to offset the 70/30 front to rear weight bias. The hatch will provide an extra 4.6 cubic inches of storage over the coupe with the seats folded down. Expect to see them on the dealer lots this fall"

In terms of a shooting brake, I don't see anything "not good" about the render.

Like I said - I'm not horrified, but not in love. It's not a slam dunk like the M Coupe for me. I'd like to see a more "realistic" render sitting at a more drivable ride height and without the gob-awful black plastic cladding.

Or, if they want to keep the cladding go full Safari and lift it. One or the other instead of the worst of both.

I will say it looks better than the shooting brake render of the Gen1 that made the rounds years ago.

Seems like the renderings managed to top the Volvo C30 for "most useless sized hatch opening".

They still can't have legs but their head is safe.

I like it. But most of my cars have been hatchbacks. For a sporty small daily driver it is much more practical. Most of the cars I've owned have been hatchbacks. I've had a Corolla, AMC Spirit and Gremlin, RX7, Civic Si, CRX Si, Accord CCVC, Saturn SW2 and a GTI. All hatchbacks.
If the FR-S came in a hatchback, that's what T would be driving now.

i like it, though i'm conflicted on the use of a widebody kit on the render. i'd like to see the same render without the widebody setup
