Those Primacy tyres seriously lack traction, I can hear them rubbing against the floor badly while turning up-slope. The car is lots of fun when driven in "more open" space. But in places like Hong Kong where everything is shit cramped, I always feel it's gonna fishtail out and hit something sooner or later.
This is the traffic we deal with everyday lol

As long as you keep the electronics on and don't drive like a madman, that is extremely unlikely.
I do drive like a madman, habitually, so I know what I'm talking about

This thread is why OEM tend to make most cars understeer from the factory instead of oversteer :/

Go to the more rural area in new territories. When I live there occasionally I come across big lots that is usually empty at night you can thrash your cars around. Don't stay too long though cops on foot is everywhere in Hk

I entered a rainy overpass with too much speed, tail wanted to kick out and the traction control definitely straightened the car out.

I've also run autoX with full TC ON once and it gave me an easier lap with much less sliding in the michelin primacy hp's.

As a side note, I personally felt that the stock Primacy tyres didn't have enough traction for my taste and driving style, particularly in the wet.
So I'm currently running on Pilot Super Sport 225/45R17. Those have a LOT more traction.
I hope you burned off your stock tires first...you gotta make good use of the included rubber.

The car is all stock, spare tyre removed, with front tower strut bar added, maybe it's imbalanced?
Do you find it drives better with the spare tire removed for less weight?

It is tail happy, but very forgiving, a little counter steer and it snaps right out of it. You could drift donuts all day if you have a relative that sells tires.
Did you do this before or after the break-in period?

Oh and by the way, why does everyone call them the "nannies"?

Nanny:
1. a person, typically a woman, employed to look after a child in its own home.
2. be overprotective towards.

It's because the electronics nanny you, hold your hand, reel you in when you try and have too much fun, stop you from hurting yourself.

My understanding of this car is it deliberately has low traction so that the break away is at lower speeds, more progressive and controllable. It's meant to be playful. Like a Mk2 Ford Escort. If its being playful is scaring you, then maybe you should put bigger tyres on it or maybe you should consider a car which has a more traditional modern grip policy. (Hang on like it's on rails till the last minute, then kill you).

I also drive a motorbike with about 300bhp per ton and a high torque twin, no traction control, no stability, no anti-locks. In the wet it requires respect, awareness and finesse. Not least because stepping out the tail on a motorbike can cause some rather bad things to happen.

Nope... I have the stock wheels with the stock tyres stashed away. I figure they'll come in handy some day.

I don't... and I don't like that expression. Turning off the electronics on the track is fine.Turning them off while driving on public roads is an unnecessary risk. I like the VSC Sport mode, btw.

I find it less balanced and doesn't drive better. Probably more fuel-efficient with 18.6kg less to carry (weighed it) but I think there's only a miniscule difference considering the car is over 12xx kg.

Do you drive on the roads under VSC Sport mode?

Under certain conditions, yes. Twisting roads with very sharp turns, hill climbs on slippery snow/ice, other demanding situations at relatively low speeds.
It does nothing for highway cruising, of course.

Example of road where I may choose to enjoy my GT86 with 225 Pilot Super Sport tyres in VSC Sport mode.

Losing control of the car here is not an option, the road is narrow and the cliffs are lethal.
Also, there may be hazards such as goats, trucks and germans in the road behind the next bend, so fast stopping is a good thing.

It was rainy today and my tail kicked out when I was taking an exit ramp. At no point I feel out of control though. I was expecting the tail to kick out and I countersteer a bit until tc violently bought me straight again. If anything the tc was the scariest part of the whole experience, the sudden jerk back to straight

So many blame the stock tires for loss of control or simply deride their performance. The tires are good and I'm sure more than sufficient for the average vehicle. Put them on a car with excellent handling then all of a sudden they're dangerous? That's Counterintuitive.

Took me three weeks after getting the FR-S to swap from the stock tires to Pilot Super Sports.

Primacy HP's have no grip in wet.
