I'll post vid's once I get the new pipe in. Most likely a month from now.

I encountered the "VVT rasp" with my old 2.5" over/front pipe with the old style helmholtz.

I have the new style over/front pipe. I went with the 3" which has the standard style resonator AND the new ball type helmholtz.

I can confirm that the "VVT rasp" is gone.

I just got mine tuned after searching for a leak over the last two weeks. Gave up after new gaskets. Didn't realize it was vvt that was causing the rasp. Would I need to retune for new resonator design or am I good to go even with 3in. Are all the new fp/op on their site shipping with new style resonators?

So the new 3" has the ball style helmholtz? I thought only the 2.5" had them and the 3" had a regular long tube resonator? Either way is good to know the rasp is gone.

Does the EL header you're running have a catalytic converter?

My setup is the FA20club EL Header with primary cat, Perrin Overpipe, Nameless Catted Front Pipe with older style Helmholtz resonator, stock exhaust, Perrin Tips. Running OFT 2.0 EL Header 93 octane tune, MAF rescaled

No drone and just a hint of "buzz" from 4000-4800 rpm's during wide open throttle only

Thanks for the reply, any reason why you went with a 3" when you have a 2.5 exhaust?

To better match the 3" header collector. The front pipe does taper down to 2.5" at the cat-back flange. As a bonus, this actually fit better than the 2.5" and has a deeper exhaust note.

Nameless Performance Overpipe/Downpipe Combo

Making me want to switch over. All new op/fp have ball resonator even though it doesn't show it right?

I was told all the new orders of downpipes were getting the new design, they just haven't had a chance to update there photos. I would specify you specifically want the new design in the purchase notes just to be safe.

It's the Nameless header so it's catless.

Yeah, 2 resonators and a high-flow cat.

Here's a pic.

Here's a pic.

So it's a straight through resonator and the ball one. What are you running after the downpipe? I see a flex joint. Also have sound clips?

I wanted to go that route but was worried about noise level and cost as I already have the 2.5" dp and 3" axleback.
