Remember when you see all those horror stories they total up to a small fraction of a percent of all the cars repaired.
Like everything else people with problems yell it loud and those with no issues remain silent which makes it look like the problem is more prevalent than it is.

I'm at 10,300 miles (1.5 years) after the recall work was done. I do very little commuting with the car, mostly track and canyon. No problems related to the recall.

I'm in a similar boat as Dadhawk - did mine 2 years ago at about 280k km and I'm at 340 k km now. He hit the nail on the head when it just depends on whether or not it was done correctly.

I wouldn’t bother. Even if it’s a tinny fraction of people that have failures I don’t think it’s worth the risk. When you go to sell it you can tell people it doesn’t have the recall and then they are free to decide if they want to have it done and anyone who does lots of research and sees the threads about failures could potentially value your car higher for not being molested.

This all depends on whether you live in Cali or not.

42,200~ miles the recall work was done.

47,600 miles I put on a turbo kit, new clutch etc. Dropped the oil pan while I was at it and inspected the pickup and screen. No debris, sludge or sealant issues.

Currently at 68,000 miles today.

No issues.

What are the codes though? Could be as simple as a loose hose or not even engine related. Of course it also could be major but that isn't where I would jump off from.

Several problems may cause a P000B code including:

Possibly loose fuel cap
Low oil pressure causing erratic camshaft position
Restriction to oil flow in oil passages
Restriction to oil flow in variable camshaft timing (VCT) valve body
Damaged or defective VCT phaser
Damaged or defective camshaft position sensor
Damaged or defective camshaft position actuator solenoid
Binding of the camshaft advance mechanism
Damaged or defective ECM (rare)

What are the symptoms of the P000B code?

Symptoms of a P000B code may include:

Check engine or warning light may illuminate
Vehicle rpm may fluctuate during idle
May hesitate when going uphill
There may be no symptoms aside from a stored trouble code
