Clunk noise no power

I was driving to work all of a sudden lost power heard a rattling noise so I pulled over before I even stopped the car died and would not turn on.. towed back home ob2 tester says nothing wrong but wont crank and all check lights are on. i charged the battery and still won't crank.

Not sure what to do next. I don't see any external damage

Have it trailered to the shop. Time for expensive engine parts.

I live in SanDiego does anyone have any recommendation on a shop to take it to?
If i have to rebuild the motor might as well make it fast.

Making it fast just makes it more expensive, especially if you aren't up for doing the work yourself. Not judging, just how it is.

Get it checked out to see what's up and go from there, IMO.

Try posting in the SoCal regional area. I bet you get some solid leads.

Or this.

buy used engine with low mileage if you want to drop it in one day.
cause buying new part might take some time if out of stock or to ship and you might need to take the head and block to a machine shop.

Well, that's too bad ......

Any power mods ..... ??

What's the last thing you did to the engine .. ??

Are you sure it's not out of gas .. ??

You say it won't crank ...... do you mean the engine won't not turn over or it just won't fire .. ??

Come back.

Maybe I misread but why would you possibly need to take a new engine to a machine shop?

not a new engine i mean if he will rebuild the engine he might need to resurface the heads and the block will need to be bored to fit new piston.

im not sure if Subaru sells oversize piston or if he will have to change the sleeve.

if he is gonna buy a whole new engine or short block he wont need to rebuild it

OK, when you go to try to start it:

Will the key turn in the cylinder ..??

If so, do you hear a "click" ... ??

Again, does the starter turn the engine over ... ??

Have you checked the oil level ... ??

I doubt the CAI is blocked ( @Boomerang - how in the heck to you figure that is keeping the engine from starting ...... ) ........ however, to test that theory, just remove the CAI and try to start the engine.
