Last I read the average age of BRZ buyer was 36 and that was 3rd lowest in the industry. Typical average age of any vehicle new buyer is in the high 40s, early 50s. Not surprising then to see so many above 40 in this thread.

Older data but doubt it has changed much. The average age is going to be well over 36.

Yep, it's just the way it works. Let's say they sold one vehicle to every age between 18 and 80. The average age of the buyer would be 49.

That means to move the average down you have have one more person under 49 buy the car than the number above it. It's pretty much a losing battle to get the average age much below 40.

67 here. Decided it was finally time to wrap up my motorcycle riding days after 40+ years, so I sold my naughty Triumph Street Triple R and put in an order for a 2023 BRZ Limited with 6-speed manual.

I'm 89, will be 90 in November and tracking since 1952. That was in a Cad-Allard and a MG TD.

68 with a broken femur to show for it. Now training to get my 6’6” carcass back into (and harder still out of) a car with the seat height of a go kart.

How's it healing? I know those can be very problematic and don't want to heal. Hope it's going well.

I've still been having nothing but problems with gout. 6 weeks now with allopurinol, got raised from 100mg to 300mg after 4 weeks. Been 6 weeks of moderate to extreme pain.

I can still get in and out of the twin on a good day, but the Lotus, forget it.

I'm only 59, but feel much older.

Edit: my bad, I thought it was your hip?

If these aren't exaggerated numbers... this may be the greatest post on this forum!

If these are new registrations then I would expect the average age to be high, inline with the average for new cars, which is in the fifties, if I remember correctly. I would expect it to average a little younger for a cheaper and youthful car, of course, but not a whole lot.

If these are total registrations of the first gen in the first few years then I would expect average registrations to slowly get younger and younger over the years, as the prices on the used market drop.
