Moving violations in Florida are the Moving violation fine + the violation fine... so for speeding 9 miles over the limit you'd get Moving F.S.316 $169 + $134 for a total of $303, do that in a construction or school zone and that is now a minimum of $328 or (because they have the option of doubling the fine) a total of $487

Do 31 mph over the limit in a construction zone (common thing on the interstates down here) and the fine will be $778 to $1,387 at the officers descretion, pull a mandatory hearing in front of a judge and likely impounding of your vehicle.
IMHO, one reason to wear a seatbelt is to give you better control of the car in an emergency situation. This could prevent injury to others on the road. Wearing a seatbelt isn't just about you.

For the motorcycle riders without helmets, they need to tour a head trauma unit or visit a morgue to see firsthand the price of not wearing a helmet.

It is ALWAYS advisable to pay for the traffic school because insurance rate hikes are the gift that keeps on giving... and reported violations can significantly raise your rates.

P.S. There are no tests in traffic school. It is mandated time in class... but you can sign up for instruction in a language you don't know and it still will count.
In Florida, if you elect to go to traffic school, you do pay a reduced fine. So in this case, the "Fine Amount" is what you pay if you simply decide to pay the ticket and the "School Amount" is what you pay if you elect to go to traffic school. You do however have to pay for the school itself also. This has changed off an on throughout the years but the discount was reinstated in 2019.

You can only do the school once a year and 5 times during your lifetime in Florida. On the plus side, no points of course and no increase in insurance. I've done it twice in my teens but not since.........

Edit: Oops didn't see that Opie replied already about it.

I am going to take a guess here and say that if a child sustains any injury while left unattended, there is a list of offenses the offender will be charged with, and a fine will be the least of their worries.

What I don't understand, among many things, the Fine Chart doesn't list failure to stop at a stop sign. The violation I was stopped for. I don't think it's the failure to stop at a traffic signal crime.
I'm a serial not come to a complete stop at a stop sign abuser. Last ticket I got for it was in Cape Canaveral where the Sherriff's Dept makes 90% of their revenue from not coming to a complete stoppers. They run rampant around here. But my fine was $87.

I think here in Free Florida anybody can charge anything they want for whatever they want.

It's the second line. Stop Sign=Traffic Signal

Weird. I don't see why failing to stop at a traffic sign or a stoplight would be a different price.

Probably not on the schedule he gave the OP. It should be a Failure to obey a traffic control device ticket.

Also, insurance rates go up for everyone when people get severely injured.

Could it be that many cities have cams that are only at light intersections and not where there are signs? Or am I a conspiracy theorist?
