Best Catback/Front Pipe/Over Pipe/Header Combo for the BRZ?

I am looking for the best catback/front pipe/over pipe/header combo for my BRZ. I want the car to sound good, but I also want to get much as I can regarding performance gains out of it. I don't have a problem with the exhaust being too loud, but it is my DD. I don't want the car to sound like it has a fart can on the back. Can you please let me know what has worked for you and why you like it?

Thanks

I'd suggest you do some search and read up on all the various options available. There are lots of different options/combos when it comes to the exhaust, including the overpipe and front pipe, system for the twins and it's difficult to say which one is best. It's best to do your own research to make the decision that's right for you. Good luck.

Your statement is too general, members are happy to help you but you have to be much much more specific.

What kind of sound are you hoping for when you say 'good'? Boxer rumble? Race car? DD friendly? What kind of performance gain do you speak of, WHP, weight loss, both, with or without tune? What about your future plans like turbo which will determine diameter size of exhaust? Does material of exhaust matter? What about the looks? Single or double exit? Maybe middle exit for custom body work?All these and much more affect your decisions.

I was actually curious about exhaust diameter for n/a applications. I am 99.9% certain I am going with Perrin, but I am unsure about 2.5" vs 3". Will the 3" make any difference with or without tune over the 2.5" with stock headers?

My next to things after the exhaust will be an ECU and most likely either a Supercharger or a turbo. I want a double exit regarding the exhaust. Also I didn't even know you could do a middle exit for the exhaust. That would look pretty cool. I also want to gain some WHP with these upgrades. I also want the car to keep the boxer rumble and the exhuast doesn't have to be really quiet. I never really have people in my car other than myself. What do people think about the SRT header back exhaust?

The best way is to go to meets and hear the exhaust from other cars. I know a local with a SRT header back, it's really loud. Personally I don't mind loud, as long as the sound is the right note. To each it's own... But in terms of SRT for FI applications, I don't have much experience about that. You might want to PM some of these vendors selling turbos and ask their opinions. Many of the locals here have dealt with Bob from Drift Office (tuning shop) and I personally met him in a meet. A good guy that is running some demo cars with turbo, you might want to PM him and get his advice.

* to be more specific*
Ill be going for greddy turbo kit, using tomei 80r exhaust. What front pipe and over pipe should i get for maximum whp gains? Any suggestions? Thanks in advance. Dont care about the sound. Also, how many WHP gains does each pipe gives?

This thread is dead, useless, and not going to help you.

Almost all over pipes are the same. If you're going turbo, then look for an over pipe that matches the size of your exhasut. 2.5" minumum, 3" is better. There are way too many variables envolved to make a blanket suggestion for your setup.

Stick with 2.5" unless you're going turbo.

Get a full exhaust, do it once and do it well, right off the top of my head, JDL makes a full exhaust from the header back. You could opt for catted FP with resonator and they have a good muffler so it'll keep things sounding classy. If I were you I'd try to get a complete system and not mix and match OP with FP, mid and axle back so you don't have too many fitment issues. Motiv makes great looking over and front pipe and Dezod makes a very good looking and affordable catback. Since you're going for "power" stay away from invidia, tomei and tanabe brand front and over pipes as I think they're all 2.3", not a big deal in diameter difference but 2.5" is better. If I had to do it again those would be my choices. Forgot you wanted a header as well, may sound like I'm biased but JDL makes the best header at least from a "torque dip removal" point of view. I personally had a Ptuning and it was too raspy for me.
