P0700 Auto trans

I was on the highway earlier and out of nowhere my car acted as if I just a dry ice patch ( it's 90 degrees in Florida) check engine light came on, traction control and abs light came on.
Pulled over checked codes p0700 nothing else. Got back on the road, car *seems* like it's in limp mode. While coming to a halt it lurches a little but otherwise had no issues accelerating at all.

Until around a half hour later, the car didn't seem to shift when it normally would and the rpms got higher than normal for a second or two, then the car acted as if I slammed on the brakes/hit the e break.

Took back roads home, still no other issues, still lurches *sometimes* while coming to a complete stop. Any ideas what this could be? I've never had any transmission issues with the car (or any car for that matter) is this how tranny issues start? I'm supposed to go on a 3 hr drive later today so any help would be appreciated.

How many miles on your car?

Have you ever had the transmission oil changed?

I'd suggest you erase the code and see if it comes back - maybe the transmission just had a heat stroke?

You may consider checking the oil level in the transmission.
