Question Max HP an frs engine can handle?

so i've looked around google and haven't really found an answer, but, what's the max HP an frs engine can handle? is it worth putting money into it? (i would love too) or is it just better to swap ?

Seems like the transmission is a component that'll fail before the engine. It's all about the tune as well.

But you won't really find a definite answer. It's very case by case basis. Anything more than 250whp tends to give people problems unless it's a built engine.

But this is for a small group of people. The vast majority are boosting their heart out and not having any issues.

You're better off buying a more powerful car altogether.

If your going to swap engines, go V8. It's more power in stock from than a modded 2jz. Then again, if you just want power, get a better V8 car to begin with.

It all comes down to time and money. With both any thing is possible.

Personally I'll keep the 86 as light and grippy as possible. If I just want raw power to be a freeway ricer douche, I'll get a different car.

It can handle as much as you want right up to the point it can't handle it anymore and blows up.
At first glance that may seem like a smart ass answer but in reality it is the only answer that can be given. People have taken it way up with little to no issues some have taken it up slightly and blew it up.
In the end it is not an engine that was built for huge numbers.

On that note Luis why do you want high HP? What are your goals? (not a slam or rhetorical question but an honest enquiry)

Highest I've seen in person to run reliably is 400whp with bolt-ons. 2JZ swap is a huge job, I've heard LS isn't as bad.

OP, how about you help the community out and see how much hp the FA20 can handle. Be a guinea pig... for the rest of us!

This engine is roughly 100 HP per liter. But if anything I'm okay with 200 hp but 151 torques is what i'd improve on. Match the hp at 200 torques or more and do it NA and you'll feel that at the seat most definitely.

@FullBlown made 604 whp / 472 Tq on the stock block, stock transmission. I think I remember them saying it felt like it was on borrowed time though.
