To start, I had been following the FT-86 from about 2010 and found the car rather cool. Ever since I had gotten rid of my 1995 Mitsubishi Eclipse, I had the insatiable urge to get something sporty again. Of course I couldn't afford it since I had college to pay for. Now that I'm finishing up my senior year, I had the opportunity to start shopping.

It came down to a BRZ and an FR-S, both of which had to be manual transmission (which in the hill country area, there were very few). Unfortunately the BRZ was out of my range by a few thousand dollars ...so I got the FR-S in Raven black, used with just under $25K.
The car was bone stock when I bought it.

Goals: 220-240 whp / 160-170 wtq

Themes: red! dolling up the engine with random red pieces. Such as the inlet tube being red, a red oil cap by GrimmSpeed, ect.

So far I've installed the following:

Appearance:
Spec-D black headlights w/ 6000K HIDs
Valenti-style reverse tail lights
OEM-style lip spoiler

Performance*
TRD "quickshifter"
Mishimoto inlet tube
K&N drop in

Future Mods (hopefully):

Five:AD S7 wheels
OEM-style rear diffuser
HT Autos body kit
Invidia Q300 CBE
Nameless OP/FP combo
SpeedFactory Catted UEL header
FI - either the Jackson Racing SC or the Vortech SC, I haven't decided just yet.
Of course before I go FI I need to read up on tuning. Seems complicated and inconvenient as there are no turners except in Austin....

will post pictures soon!
TURN DOWN 4 WHAT!!!

Already have the master cylinder brace on. I can't really feel anything under light braking, but once you start braking hard, you can feel it. Will be putting the pulleys on this week hopefully. More pics to come when they are on!

Update(s):

So I've had the Perrin pulley kit and the master cylinder brace installed for some time now. The brace I didn't notice right away. But once you start braking harder, then yes, you do notice it. The pulleys, on-the-other-hand, are just for show. Yeah some people say, "Oh I can feel it!" But the truth is, I don't notice anything. I will give it to the weight Nazis though. The stock crank pulley is heavy!

Got my new brake kit in as well as my Tomei overpipe. Will probably get the brakes put on this week. As for the overpipe, I'm still waiting on my catted and resonated Nameless front pipe. (Yes it does come as just the front pipe).
