I don’t actually mind the BMW DNA in the Supra. I only really mind the no manual thing. If anything Toyota forced BMW to make the only car worth of a BMW badge since ~2012. BMW wanted the Z4 to be a comfy GT car. Toyota pushed for the short wheelbase and the track the car ended up with. The B58 engine sits lower than it sits in any other BMW because Toyota thought it was too high. BMW May have done the bulk of the development, but the requirements came from Toyota.

I too have been involed in engine swaps, worse case senario is a hump designed on the bonnet.

WHAT? So you're telling us that;"...worse case senario is a hump designed on the bonnet." I'd hate to try a drive one of your swaps then!

Correct, Toyota could have done just that but, THEY DIDN'T! They wanted the boxer 4 for a reason! SO why do so many people seem to think that they (Toyota) should change their minds now, abandon the boxer in favour of some in-line lump?

I agree that it was Toyota’s vision for how the Supra (and in a way) the Z4 turned out. In fact I think Toyota had to make some compromises on their vision because of the size of the Z4. It sounds like it turned out to be an awesome car, the Supra. I’m considering buying one in a few years.
And I should probably clarify that I don’t have anything against BMW at all, they’ve made some of the best drivers cars of all time. I just wanted the Supra, such an iconic name and car, to be all Toyota. Those days are gone now unfortunately. I need to keep saving for a nice mint Mk4 Supra Turbo.

Seems like if you want an all Toyota sports car, you're likely going to have to look into their Lexus lineup as that is the only place where the 100% Toyota coupes exist.....of course that also means you have to look for less sport and more luxury unless you want to shell out huge bucks for something like an RC-F Track edition.

These ain't no Supra but they're 100% Toyota.

That’s true, the entire Lexus lineup is almost entirely all Toyota (I know they are separate “brands/companies” but we all know it’s Toyota )

The RC-F would be a terrific car to own I agree, and it’s possibly more “Supra” than the actual Supra/Z4. I will keep my eye on them in the used market, but Lexus cars don’t tend to depreciate much. Unlike the German brands. Lol That’s the only issue with Lexus, the cost.

I would so love to have one of those, and at least you know the engine won’t fail

I'd love that too.
Might end up just having a rolling chassis + engine after like 2 years though lol.

Engine won't fail? Lotus Evora? Really?
Do a quick Google on that.
The twins are rock solid in comparison (when you consider numbers made)
