It really seems to depend on the part with no logical pattern. We have seen guys here get some things cheaper from Toyota and some from Subaru. Personally, I would buy from neither and just order online for even less. If I didn't need it right that minute of course.

Not your worst by a long shot. In fact it is almost a logical next step for many.

Well, that depends. I have a 2017 right now, but to replace it in an affordable price range I would be stepping down to a much older car, maybe even 10 years older. That's the main rub. Add in insurance and maintenance and it's a lot less appealing of an idea.

It's a great idea. Then you could sell the Porsche and get an 86 again when you realize it's not any more fun on back roads, has less space, and costs more to keep running. Your story will keep me from learning that the hard way and it won't cost me anything.

Ya I was thinking you meant 2 or 3 years not 10. OK so it is a bad idea.

I hate when chain stores pull this with having to have the make and model to look something up. If I came here I looked up the part online to make sure you have it, here is a screen shot on my phone of said part and part number

Just finished a 10-day, approx 2000 mile road trip roof-top tent camping in our 2005 LX470 (Lexus version of Toyota Land Cruiser). Drove through some exceptionally hard rain and steady winds 40mph gusting upwards of 55mph. What an amazing vehicle.

Been home a few days, and put about 500 more miles on my '13 FR-S. What an amazing vehicle.

The two are about as different as they get, and the both are just about perfect for what they are designed to do and put a HUGE grin on my face every time I get in either one.

OK... that's my positive thought for the week. Glad I got that out of my system.

Yes they were. They were not the materials that were used.

I think it did in both cases. Subaru took the hit and tightened the lower limit for the wire diameter tolerance. Takata, well, shit. They made a bajillion of those ANFO bombs.
