Every situation is different but give the guy the credit for the support Shiv has given for the 86/brz community. I love my tunes and OFH.

I had the exact same experience. Shiv has been nothing but great to work with and his off the shelf tunes are better than many custom tunes for these cars. Dude is an 86 wizard and is as reputable as they come.

Speaking of Shiv, anyone heard from him or anyone from OFT? Looking to buy an OFH3 but want to see if it is in stock and ready to ship before I buy it.

He made a few posts this past week. But I've been emailing asking for ETA on a non beta 2017 tune release and haven't heard anything yet.

I'm close to switching but I've already made the investment in OF.

Lol, it's wiser to not say anything and be thought ignorant, than to open your mouth and prove it.

Probably a bit off topic, but...

I know he'll sell at least one more OFT once there's a final release for the 2017 BRZ's. I just don't want to play with betas.

There is no ETA on when 2017 tunes become non-beta. The 2017 software is so new (and different from earlier model years) that it would be shortsighted to give a specific date. We have been supplying beta tunes to several 2017 86 customers over the last few weeks. Once we are ready to release a newer version of the tune, we will certainly make the accouncement .

All OFH3s that are scheduled to arrive next week are spoken for. So we are taking orders on the next batch which arrives in another 4 weeks. We do have 3 OFH2s (due next week) which are currently unspoken for. Usually OFHs get sold out before they even arrive here.

Question. Are the 2017 MT and AT stock ECUs the same? To my understanding the AT 17 has the previous MY's motor, so I am wondering if the 17 AT ECU has been updated or is it the same as 2016 MY.

I do like the OF product and the efforts made early on. But...
November 2016 I was told in an email that the 2017 tune was in beta and that "public release tunes" would be available "within the next couple of weeks."
I emailed asking for a copy of the beta tune. Nothing.
2017's have been on the ground for 7 months now. Again, really happy with all that Shiv has done for the community but the promises and announcements (tpms readouts) need to be done with some sort of dependability.

Things change. As we learn more about the 2017 software, the more there is to it. Current beta tunes are perfectly sound and effective. If we wanted to, we can drop the "beta" designation is end much of this debate. But I intend to make improvements on a regular basis so it makes sense to make these tunes available by email only for the time being. Unlike earlier models years, the 2017 ECU will not accept older calibrations. So it is impossible to load a fully developed tune from an earlier model year.

I also emailed you a little while ago in response to your last email.

2017 ECU software is very different from pre 2017 software. 2017 ECUs run closed loop fuel control under load unlike earlier model years. This changes many things with regards to the rest of the tune.
