Sorry for the mess, but please can anyone also confirm that the JDM tips are just the same as the ones that a lot of people call as STI OEM. They have the same 44370CA000 part number.

Just confused because the end of some pictures look like same length while some show an angle at the end (like the stock shorter on the bottom and longer on the topside)

And of course there the Toyota SU003-01126 ones. I think they are also called the JDMs !!!!

Thanks

It won't be flush, trust me. The 8" JDM tips were made for the old USDM 2013-2016 muffler which had longer tail pipes and 2017+ RHD models which I can't explain.
We in North America got screwed with the 2017+ USDM muffler that has shorter tail pipes, so installing the JDM tips will not result in the same look as the RHD cars.

I really don't know what's going on with the RHD 2017+ cars and how they're longer tips poke out from the bumper. All UKDM, AUDM, and JDM look good.

It's not too hard, you just need to find the right paint in your local area. You can follow how this dude did here:

Got a good deal for new JDM tips and gave a chance. Is it what I was looking for ? Not actually but still an OEM tip and a little than an inch longer.

Happy

Old one

New one

If you find it new for a reasonable price it’s kind of OK. Otherwise not worth it

Thanks

yes that was my disappointment after trying them on. It looks practically no different from stock on a 2017+ USDM car

Get the zenki mid-pipe and muffler for cheap, install JDM tips. Problem solved! Lol

So, Subaru's 44070AC010 isn't the same part as the JDM/RoW part that people have been getting from japanparts/eBay?

Stock photos can always be misleading, and the pics associated with that part number look barely a few inches longer than the stock 15+ tips used in the US compared to the clearly longer part I've seen people receiving from japanparts in this thread, so that's why I'm asking.

Yes 44070AC010 and 44370CA000 are completely different shapes, lengths, and diameter. This post of a side-by-side comparison on a 2013-2016 muffler says it all:

Which way did you loosen the bolts?
Any suggestions not to break them.?

Thanks in advance.
