Suspension setup for flat track

Hi guys, new to the forum but not to the tracking/racing world.

So i bought a 2018 BRZ lately and it is bone stock for now other than headers and OFT. Would like to go for some modifications for the very flat and boring tracks we have here in Dubai, "Yas Marina and Autodrome Circuit"

A test that i did with my 991.1 GT3 on Yas Marina last night was test on stiff suspension i did a 2:23 after softening the suspension with press of a button that car had better traction out of the corners and felt more planted, yes it rolled a bit more but it gained much more traction, i managed to do a 2:21! almost 1.5 to 1.7 seconds faster.

Which is why i came to think about what i should do with my BRZ i do not need to go overkill with coilovers , maybe springs and swaybars would be sufficient? I would do some testing and try different things but then the season is about to end in May so i would like to get something running for now atleast..

So far in the plan is brake pads , lines and fluid + FPF1 17x9 wheels , various stiffer bushings "recommendations on brands and parts would be great"

Thanks guys!

In my opinion.
Pads and fluid only, lines aren't necessary.
Also, Rear subframe bushing inserts helped lots. I went with Whitelines.

What exactly are you trying to "fix" with the modifications? What kind of tires do you plan to run?

That's a big one.
The compound you are looking to run will be a large factor in what suspension to look at.

bilstein b8's with rce tarmacs and group N strut mounts? I believe the springs are 5k which are almost as stiff as coilovers so they should be good for any of the street rubber available.

Thanks for the reply, I still do not know which tire i am going to run, probably Nankang AR1 , Toyo R888 or similar. Maybe even try the Pilot sport 4s , problem is here in Dubai its very difficult to find tires so i have to take whatever is available. Worst case will be ordering online which is super expensive

Thanks guys.

More what compound type than what actual tire model is what we were wondering.

Those with more first hand experience can definitely chime in with what you've provided.

Semi-slick / high performance tire.

Thanks.

RCE Tarmac or equivalent. CSG has good stuff too. Why not spring for the good stuff? Sway bars are more for tuning balance. Oil/air (not oil/water) cooler from pretty much anybody. AP Sprint brakes.

We've setup a few cars for QTCC and have some datalogs from those racers including the one who won the QTCC 4 years in a row. Let us know what your actual goal is for driving. Will you be competing?

That is great!

Competing will be a few times a year in the 2L N/A category , the car will see a few track days a year and street driven too "not daily"

Thanks.

Remember your .1 GT3 is pushy; reducing the damping by taking the car out of chassis sport enhances weight transfer rotation, likely resulting in better corner exits. On smooth tracks like yours, having critical damping is not as important as maximizing average speed.
