Lol well $250 might get you a crappy former lemons car lol.

Do you guys mean a Le Mans car?

I don't think you can get any level of a Le Mans car for $2,500

Yes you may get a lemon car for $2,500 but why would you want to ?

I take it you aren't familiar with the 24 hours of LeMons race.

I am having a very suspicious text conversation with ghorsu86 about me buying tail lights off him. He pmed me regarding a wtb ad I posted here, I feel like 90% of problems are related to pm's regarding wtb ads. He has 0 posts on here too. Which I dont take as a good sign. If you can trace back on posts they've made and see normal conversations they've had with people on here that's very affirming. I will follow up if I have any. I'm very unsure about this, someone has attempted so scam me selling my ducati before, I'm no spring chicken, so have a decent fishyness radar. As a rule of thumb, if it's any, AT ALL, suspicious, dip out.

What is their join date? With no posts and a new join date they are 100% a scammer.

The join date was very recent, a month or two ago. Too many thing add up, they are always very urgent, say things like "receive the item". Alright, taking my own, and your advice, no sale. They also tend to drastically lower the selling price, meaning they just want something, anything, even $100.

My wtb ad was for Tom's 300 shipped. I asked what's the best he could do. He said 200 shipped. I flat out said can you prove to me you are legit(because that's way to cheap). He said I understand your concerns, how about 100 now and 100 "when you receive the item". Alright, at this point you get the picture. When it seems like the deal of a lifetime, it's too good to be true.

Any time someone describes something i have for sale as "the item" I ask them to describe the item. I get an exact copy/paste of my for sale ad title.

Pictures of the item with username just like in the forum guidelines and your risks are cut in half. Check the history of the seller, their post, join date, etc.

Come on people. Who in their right mind would accept half the money now and half the money later.

There have been cases of scammers on here using other people's pictures including the wrong user name. They claimed they were selling for "their boyfriend" or "a buddy overseas" and that was why the name did not line up.
Was funny as hell when the one actual owner of the picture confronted them!

Man, I posted a WTB the other day and I've gotten like 3 separate PM's from this kind of bot. All separate usernames. All with a join date in the past few days, 0 posts.

They all say something along the lines of "I have a friend who has one of these [insert_email_address]"

Ridiculous.

Honestly I don't know why this forum doesn't have some kind of lockout on accounts so they can't PM someone without posting maybe a minimum of 10 posts??
