I'm pretty sure it's because of what gkubed pointed out earlier about replicas being sold as authentic thing. I have bought a few parts from them in the past and I would be curious myself why they are selling reps as authentic as per an earlier post (simply marking them as "style" doesn't really do much good in my opinion).
It may have started as a whining thread but now I would like to know myself why FT86SF isn't being more transparent with what they sell. |

As a matter of fact, I distinctly remember them selling the JDM STI battery tie downs for like $90 on their site a good few years back, claiming it was real... while EVERYBODY else has had them for sale for around $180 for the better part of a decade. Not sure how that would be possible with an authentic item, as they’d be selling for less than cost at that point.

Tie down is 189.71$, Do you have evidence it was ever any different? or know how many days it was listed at this supposed 90$ price, if it was then possibly it was on the website posted incorrectly for a few days before caught and correct, not uncommon. https://ftspeed.com/part/fr-s-brz-86...6#.Xxssyp5KiUk i know they sometimes sell both authentic and knock off but list it as "style" and it's always a cheaper price, should be pretty apparent to the buyer, also in the item description details it will be more specific. I don't think it is done intentionally to mislead people ,rather to clearly show this product is 99% identical to this other authentic product but for 70% the price. |

As to the reasoning behind that, idk. Which is why I’m not making speculations. I have asked about it though, and it’s been ignored. So take that for what it’s worth. I also don’t really care to support them when all they’re doing is selling the same shit everybody else does while flooding the market with gaudy stickers and vinyl overlays and then sending pretty much every authentic aero part to “OLM” to be replicated for a fraction of the cost. I have my own personal experiences with them with orders in the past. With my first FRS in 2013, and a couple orders for my 2016 STI. Many of those orders had no issues. A few did though, and the communication/response on their end was less than ideal. That being said, it makes no difference to me how they do as a business. But I prefer to give others my business due to their better customer service and communication, and support of authentic companies.

I've bought a few things from FT86SF and never had an issue, so can't complain. That said, the knock-offs as legit products had me curious. Found the below on the claims so far.
Looks like the tail lights updated from Valenti to OLM while maintaining the same SKU, price, and reviews. SKU HTYF86TL-VSQ Feb 2018: https://web.archive.org/web/20180212...l#.WoG6fp77RPY SKU HTYF86TL-VSQ Sept 2019: https://web.archive.org/web/20190808...2013-ft86.html Current SKU HTYF86TL-VSQ: https://ftspeed.com/part/htyf86tl-vs...6#.Xx4dQp5KhPY For the Five:AD spoiler. It looks like Five:AD stopped making the parts and supposedly sold the design/tooling to 3d Carbon at some point. Amusingly with a crappy job of updating the install instructions. I can't validate this as true, though. Thread: https://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=116261 SKU FAX61043P-xxx July 9 2017: https://web.archive.org/web/20170709...l#.WWJ86p77RPY SKU FAC61043P-xxx July 22 2017: https://web.archive.org/web/20170722...l#.WXK5BZ77RPY Current SKU 61043P-XXX-PARENT: https://ftspeed.com/part/61043p-xxx-...s#.Xx4j0J5KhPY Oh, and here's a capture of the half price battery tie-down if anyone was curious. No difference on product description, just no longer on sale: https://web.archive.org/web/20170625...l#.WVASvJ77RPY |

Only ever bought one thing from them (Hi-flow filter)
After waiting 5 weeks, I cancelled my order and went to a local autobody shop and got the part from them in 3 days. So 0% success rate for me. |

10/10 would love to see if FT86SF would ever address this. Doubt it though.

My FB fuel pump that was listed as in stock and ordered on July 6th should finally be here tomorrow.
I guess the moral of the story is ignore the "in stock" indicators because they aren't accurate and getting in contact with someone is sketchy. YMMV |
