Would You Pay $7 Million For A Lexus LFA Nurburgring Edition?

Quote:
Nearly four years after the Lexus LFA's production ended in late 2012, Japan's first supercar of the 21st century is rubbing shoulders with Italy's finest exotics in the used car market.

When it was brand new, the base LFA was priced at $375,000, but then came the Nurburgring Edition, which added $70,000 for an assortment of performance goods.

Among these was a 10 HP boost for the V10 mill, a larger front spoiler, a fixed rear wing, re-tuned suspension, a tweaked 6-speed sequential transmission, and new wheels and tires that all helped shave an impressive 8.85 seconds off the standard model's Nordschleife lap time. For another $20k, Lexus would also paint your special edition in matte black.

Out of a total production run of 500 LFAs, only 50 cars were built to Nurburgring Edition specification, which makes it a very rare car indeed, but there's a huge distance from its six-digit MSRP when it was brand new to this example that's for sale with an asking price of €6,430,000 (equivalent to $7,166,810).

The seller didn’t provide any extra details on the limited edition Lexus LFA on mobile, but it is mentioned that chassis number 00275 was driven for just 680 km (423 miles). As a bonus, the vehicle has been signed by Toyota Motor Company's CEO, Akio Toyoda.

It does look like he likes the Lexii... Maybe the RC-F in particular isn't as bad as Jeremy Clarkson (and he made a nice little dig at JC for having trouble with the TC of the RC-F) and the rest of the internet like to let on...

The LFA key looks exactly the same as our RX valet key which is amazing quality right there (the standard integrated remote key would have its casing in bits and pieces after some years of use).

The LFA is one of the few exotic supercars that I think justifies its price in terms of the craftsmanship and obsessive level of detail its designers and engineers put into it. SG also did a recent video on the 458 Italia, and whilst that is a fantastic supercar, and likely quicker than the LFA all around, the lack of care in its construction was evident - after just a few thousand km the interior was coming apart worse than a typical Japanese economy car! And there is no comparing the underbodies... the LFA's is light years ahead in terms of design, materials etc.

Sure, the LFA was never the quickest supercar even in its heyday, but it has something special about it that a run of the mill Ferrari, Lambo or McLaren seems to lack.

There's this girl in Japan who's probably mid or so 20's. I don't know wtf her job is or if she even has one. But she owns an LFA and a Porsche Boxter, and is constantly hanging out with other rich kids of Japan who have Lamborghinis and Ferraris. It's insane.

But I give her props because she actually drives it (the LFA) fairly often. I think it's probably sort of like a fashion piece to her but given that she seemingly drives it multiple times a week, I almost don't even mind.
