Weight is probably something to be more of a concern with for performance actually.

Car already has full exhaust/tune/etc, but my q300 is in need of replacement. It is also stupid heavy, and swapping exhausts will save about 25 lbs from what estimate. Between that and seats, hoping to drop some weight this season.

Seats aren’t worth much iirc. I’m on jdl 4-2-1 and nameless ultra quiet track pipe, everything else oem, don’t want any louder, don’t think there’s anything to be gained from anything after the second cat, most of the weight savings a fraction of the cost. Video from Sunday below.

How many folks are doing the pedal dance? I haven't bothered with it in the STX car at all yet.

most of the time, I don't do it.

In bumpy lots, I think it may be worth while.

We always did it in my old car. Coming from a turbo car my other half left-foot brakes and we felt like the car would more frequently find ice-mode with the left foot braking with the button push vs the pedal dance. Maybe just course/site related or in our heads but it helped to us

1 - I am jealous of you guys lots/courses. We can't find anything to use over roughly 600 x 250ish. Other than 1 weekend a year on a AF Base.

2 - That's my thoughts - try and save a bunch of weight and hope im still not too loud with out spending stupid money on a cat back. If I need to spend any more $, im just gunna get a Gen 2 car lol.

^^^^^

Make the 1st gen car uncompetitive when it has been consistently one of the largest classes at nationals for years.

Dislike

It sucks. Could move the ND to SST or the 1st gen to STH and open things up for more popular platforms.

Make a new ST class for the ND. This solves all the problems in question.

I know one person has already written that letter. I'm going to be writing that letter in response to this.

I don't see how it immediately becomes uncompetitive. Not the top of the class, but still within trophies I'd expect. The 2nd gen isn't miles faster than the 1st gen.

More importantly, write letters. Even if it's really simple, letter volume does have an impact in their decisions.

What makes it hugely uncompetitive? They're the same chassis, but the 2nd gen has less development. Look at last years nationals results. Simmons was the top 2nd gen driver in STR, someone that has been very nationally competitive for a lot of years, would have been hanging out at the bottom of trophies almost 1.5 seconds behind the top STX time. Will that gap close, and the 2nd gen be faster, sure, but it's not pure domination like people seem to think.
