I've already received notices from Nissan on my old car offering a 100k warranty for $680. When I bought that car, the dealer wanted $1700. Credit Union wanted $800 when I bought it but I declined.

There will always be a few non lemons that need repairs but cars these days really don't have major mechanical issues all that often. If you are tough on a vehicle, like a work truck, then they makes sense. Lots of highway mileage is not hard on cars btw. Lot's of people equate "high mileage" to "rough life."

Also agree it's a waste of money but for those who want the peace of mind, feel free. My dealership had offered me a warranty with a deductible (unreal) which was really the icing on the cake to tell them to piss off
