It's typically not planned other than "well, I'll watch the needle until I need to start looking". Also, a good share may not have enough knowledge about electric vehicles to equate weight with range. For the most part, their experience with batteries is once you know how long they will last in a device, it's pretty steady state. Again, most don't really think about that driving an ICE either.

Totally get that... but that is independent of towing impact as far as I am concerned. Charging is a problem for all EVs today as far as I am concerned. What get me is the "oh no, towing is going to have a big impact on range". Duh! As newsworthy as "rain is wet" IMHO.
