Force = Mass * Acceleration; and when towing Mass goes way up (not to mention wind resistance). It is not uncommon for gas mileage to drop into single digits with a normal truck while towing...

The difference is I can refuel in 5 minutes when my gasoline energy store runs out. It adds another hour every time I have to do it with an EV.

I'm not amazed.

It's very possible not to put the thoughts together. With ICE infrastructure, a lot of folks don't really think about how many times they have to stop for fuel on a trip. It's typically not planned other than "well, I'll watch the needle until I need to start looking". Also, a good share may not have enough knowledge about electric vehicles to equate weight with range. For the most part, their experience with batteries is once you know how long they will last in a device, it's pretty steady state. Again, most don't really think about that driving an ICE either.

I did know that, I just wasn't thinking about it.

I'd still love to drive that beautiful eh-loo-mi-nee-um maiden if Ho ever lets me. Maybe if I replace his radiator...

Totally get that... but that is independent of towing impact as far as I am concerned. Charging is a problem for all EVs today as far as I am concerned. What get me is the "oh no, towing is going to have a big impact on range". Duh! As newsworthy as "rain is wet" IMHO.

Some people need basic physics explained to them. No it's not "news" but it is an empirical test showing how much range decreased by so there is value in it.

I liked this, made me chuckle. Then again, I'm a tiny bit not sober.
