Alright - here are some pictures of the Velox "tame" rear diffuser, the additional diff guards and the JDM underpanel kit on the rack at PRE Racing in Portland, OR.

They also installed the Mtech shift springs and the STI/JDM tranny mount.

First of all - I love the diffuser. IMO - perfect for my DD/Occasional track build. It looks good. I noticed a difference on the highway at higher speeds. The car felt more planted. When I am above 70 - the car has felt a little "lofty" when going over rises, etc. It felt more planted. I can't tell how much is the diffuser and how much is the better airflow underneath but I am assuming the diffuser is doing most of the work and the panels are just helping feed it cleaner, faster air underneath. I will test it out more later.

Mtech springs? No brainer. Great, cheap mod. Shifting feels crisper and more accurate.

Tranny mount? I will have to wait to comment. There is not much if any increase in noise or vibration. The car just feels like it is delivering power smoothly to the back. The tranny mount brace I had installed transferred over to this new STI model.

Looks great!
Would you mind a rear end shot while the car is on the ground to show the diffuser from a little ways back?

Long time no post!

Well - the news is not good - I popped my engine at around 48K. Car is perfect otherwise - has all the mods lists in this thread. I don't think I am going to do the engine swap.

Bent a rod - metal all over in the oil etc.

Anyway - I am bumping this to say it's over BRZ - fun while you lasted.

I am going to either sell it as is or store it and sell it later. I'll make a post in the for sale section for any of you in the Portland area who are interested. Don't ask sales questions in here!

I ended up falling in love with my Elise and that's where my attention is. But - the BRZ was a blast and helped with my Fast and Furious tuning urge.

Good luck everyone!

Here is the for sale link -

Sorry to hear about your engine =[ Any more details on why/how it happened? My build is going in a similar direction to yours. Best to learn my lessons from others haha.

My warning is pretty simple -

1) If you are boosted - watch your oil levels like a hawk.
2) If you are boosted and on E-85 - watch your oil levels like a double-hawk
3) If you get a check engine light + traction control that goes away after you clear it - don't assume everything is alright.

Bottom line is I think it was oil starved at one point. Got a little flaw in a bearing. Then, it was just a matter of time

Hm, odd. Running my car in the 300-450whp area for 2 years now, never check my oil, regardless of how much E85 I'm running that week. Don't worry about ever popping a CEL (dummy light).

Just change my oil at a regular interval (I think once in the last year, lolz). Even let a friend daily drive the car while his daily was down for a turbo kit install. Car's still running mint to this day.

Car sold. Being revived with a new engine - back to NA and headed out to Utah.

Later car! Got everything I was hoping out of it. Worked out my fast and furious revival. Bought it, voided warranty, modded the f out of it, blew it up, passed it on. Done
