I've been in this apartment since sophomore year of college, so about 8.5 years now. It's super cheap but as they say, you get what you pay for .
Reminds me of a back-in-the-day housing story. I was working out of our Mountain View Research Center in Mountain View, CA. I had only worked there for a few months when me and another new employee were called into the bosses office. He ask us if we were looking for houses to buy. We said no, that we couldn't afford a house.

He said that he was going to give us a week off, with pay and we were to go buy a house. He told my fellow employee that he would personally loan him the money for a down payment. I was all set in that department, because I had the GI bill.

By the end of the next week, we both were under contract to buy houses. I bought a brand new house in the southern part of San Jose and paid $23,000 for it.

The year was 1968.

Or too warm depending on what scale you use.

Hmm, that didn't seem to work for me using just the @. I should have thought to use the [Mention] tag though. I'll try again. Thanks.

Has anyone here added a hidden door to a room? I'm trying to make my work from home room more exciting. It's just a rectangle that's drywalled now, but I thought it might be cooler to replace the door with something more incognito, like a false book shelf or something. I know there are DIYs and stuff online, I'm just asking because I have nothing better to do right now

Using the term carbon-neutral just makes me think Ponzi scheme. I'm going to do this over here to offset what I'm doing over there, but in the end I'm really still doing something bad, now it's just half as bad.

Hey, I'm all for it if it keeps our current cars running in a cleaner way though. Given we us about 390 million gallons of gasoline a day just in the US, everything we can do will help.

It is now the catch phrase for the decade at my head office. We are on their shit list because the top brass can not grasp the concept that machining cast iron to make brake rotors could possibly use more power than assembling electronic modules.
This is especially annoying since we have lead the company in energy reductions for 8 years. When the German plants were doing nothing we were spending a pile of time and capital and reduced our energy use by 18% between 2008 and 2018. Now all of a sudden it is the CEO's pet so we are expected to drop 20% more it 5 years while using 2018 as the base line. Easy if you have never done a bold thing but damned difficult if you have been working all along.

On a related note does anybody know how many squirrels running in a wheel are needed to spin a Hessop vertical lathe?
