I'm curious which models the valve springs were used on.

Was it only 1 production run, on 1 variant?

Until we know for sure there is only assumptions, and once an assumption hits the interwebs it always gets blown out of proportion.

I haven't heard of valve train failures being a major issue with the 86 or BRZ.

In saying that, I hope if there are issues, they don't effect my 17.

The Takata recall is bigger than Ben Hur, we don't want to go there.

Yeah this board is a pretty good sampler of all the issues this platform has come across and I can't think of anyone having a valve spring issue.

Ya. One clickbait blows it up and the rest run with it. They have a slow news period so they have to dig up something.

If real we will get a notice. If not we will hear nothing from Subaru and the whole thing will just go away. Of course now somebody will panic over every little noise they never noticed before.

Just saw it on the news today and there's no way us 2013 owners are not impacted. It sucks that some 9-5'er at the dealership needs to take apart the motor. I'm nearly at 150k miles, wondering if I should risk it and not bother.

For Canadian owners, don't know the status in the States
Probably take a month or two before notices go out?

After looking in the manual on spark plugs, maybe I'll ask them to change the plugs while they are in there changing springs......

I received my notice as well. But the dealer still does not have parts. I have to wait for the local dealer to call for an appt.
